FORMER METRO TRANSIT POLICE OFFICER INDICTED ON CHARGES OF ATTEMPTING TO SUPPORT ISIS

Defendant allegedly tried to mislead FBI about friend he believed had joined ISIS

A former Metro Transit Police officer was indicted Thursday on charges of trying to support ISIS, according to federal prosecutors.

Nicholas Young, of Fairfax, Virginia, is accused of attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization. He was arrested Aug. 3 at Metro headquarters, NBC News reported.
