Democrat Senator Proposes Restricting Gun That Does Not Exist

DAILY CALLER: Democratic New Mexico Sen. Martin Heinrich advocated age restricting a gun that does not exist on MSNBC Thursday

Heinrich stated that he wants a ban on “gas-assisted receiver firearms”

Host Kristen Welker had asked if Heinrich thought that “increasing age limits” on firearms were “a real possibility here with this president?”

Heinrich said in response:

There are a couple of things I can think of that I think are possible now. Increasing age limits. Certainly somebody who’s 18, 19, 20 years old shouldn’t be able to purchase an assault rifle, an AR-15 or other gas-assisted receiver firearms when they can’t buy a simple handgun, so that should be changed.

The only small problem is that this gun does not exist. There is no such thing as “gas-assisted receiver firearms.” Washington Free Beacon gun expert Stephen Gutowski assessed the matter on Twitter:  MORE HERE

  1. All of my direct impingement firearms had a terrible boating accident somewhere. Oh oh and so did my piston driven rifles. i still have a gas assisted car though.

  2. The party of you shouldn’t be able to buy a gun until 21 or older but lower the voting age to 16 doesn’t know what they are talking about. Shocker.

  3. You would think that someone preparing to opine to the nation would do a little research on unfamiliar issues, however this seems not to be the case where the democraps are involved. Ignorance of a topic is no sin but failure to learn the basics before you opine is. Here’s a clue, if you sound like an idiot no body will hear a damn thing you say. That includes you Mr. Schiff.

  4. All guns are gas assisted as the gasses from the propellant (gunpowder) assist the bullet out the barrel. This clown may know exactly what he means.

  5. Just waiting for the next round of Memes to come out with proposals to ban fake guns to fool regressives with. They’ll post them all over social media as if they were gospel.

  6. Wyatt, and in the old days if it was an old lead additive gasoline it would have been lead on lead. And if it was Super it would have been tetra ethyl lead also known as Ethyl. See what you can learn from growing up pumping gas like I did for my Dad. There’s a regular and ethyl joke in there somewhere.

  7. really enraged, whew! Thanks. I was worried that the doo-hickies that I threw away before I moved would have been treasures instead of junk. Now I don’t have to kick myself!

Of course, I wasn’t worried about the thingy-ma-bobs. I knew they were junk.

  8. Many years back some cheezy Bond movie (Roger Moore era?) featured a Q Branch “signature gun” that only Bond’s fingerprints could fire.
The Left still believes these are real. And we see periodic calls for them to be “mandatory “.

I’m waiting for the Dems to demand banning Klingon weapons technology, nongovernmental use of time travel devices, robots that transform, and all liquid-metal Terminators.
