“Democratic assault has awakened a Republican giant”

BPR:

Dems about to pay dearly in November for grossly overplaying Kavanaugh hand.

Democrats may be feeling a smug sense of triumph over the circus they have unleashed in the confirmation process of Brett Kavanaugh but one member of the Party warns they will paying the price in November.

Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA officer and member of the Democratic Party, believes a recent poll actually reveals an actual “nightmare” for Democrats as they have engaged in an unprecedented smear campaign against the Supreme Court nominee amid decades-old allegations of sexual misconduct.

In an opinion piece for Fox News published Monday, Wright cited a YouGov survey asking Americans if they believed Kavanaugh’s denial of the allegations or the claims of Christine Blasey Ford who accused him of sexually assaulting her at a party when the two were in high school over 30 years ago.

The results, Wright noted, were “striking.”

With 74 percent of Republicans believing Kavanaugh and 73 percent of Democrats believing Ford, the poll results also indicated a near split with independents as 33 percent backed Ford while 32 percent supported Kavanaugh.

“In other words, it’s a wash. And, for Democrats, that is an absolute nightmare,” Wright wrote.

“Democrats have long known they were unlikely to stop Kavanaugh’s elevation to the Supreme Court,” he added, noting that Republicans, with 51 seats in the Senate, only need 50 votes to confirm President Donald Trump’s second Supreme Court nominee.

“The only hope was to find or create a horrific allegation against Kavanaugh and leak it to the press just before a final vote. The accusation didn’t need to be accurate or verifiable, of course. Democrats simply needed a dramatic distraction and subsequent delay,” Wright continued.

Pushing Kavanaugh’s vote into the arena of public opinion and in the spotlight of media attention was one way Democrats could take the process outside of just facts and due process, Wright argued.

They would succeed if they focused on undecided moderate senators, notably those with re-election bids looming, who would have to “be shamed or shouted into submission by a frothy media circus or radicalized activist groups” thus igniting a drive to the polls in November.

“The optics of the fight – a privileged heterosexual white man vs. an innocent, powerless teen girl – would be irresistible catnip,” Wright wrote. “In other words, weaponizing and politicizing sexual assault could shore up a Blue Wave and maybe turn it into a Blue Tsunami.”

But Wright noted that, contrary to the progressives’ hopes, the tide has not drowned Kavanaugh or swept Ford to undisputed victory. In fact, Americans are split just as Democrats are shamelessly “weaponizing and politicizing sexual assault.”  keep reading

  1. @MJA: “Bryan Dean Wright, a former CIA officer and member of the Democratic Party…”

    Tsk, tsk, tsk…

How many times do I have to remind everyone that there ain’t nothin’ democratic about the Democrat Party?

  2. I am troubled that the numbers are *so* split ideologically. Hell, I found Christine Ford and her frightened, teeny voice sympathetic, at first. My reaction was not visceral hate.

Then, like a thinking human being, I moved beyond the emotion to the facts. I cannot believe how fact-free the left is, continues to be. They *should* be embarrassed, ashamed…. ….Lady in Red

Who crawls into a hole, for winning the lottery? Just because you didn’t bother to rig the numbers? Just because you didn’t spend as much money as you possibly could, buying every single ticket? Winning is for winners. The glory, and all that luscious cash, is the reward for being a winner. It’s what makes America great!

  4. Who said crime doesn’t pay?

Look up Ford’s “GoFundMe” numbers (if they are still there).

Sadly we’ve moved from looking at motivation to seeking motive for behaviors.

Think of her testimony in these two ways:

    1) What motivation caused her to come forward?
    or
    2) what motive does she have in coming forwad?

  5. Fox polls are always unreliable.

Look at the numbers for the ND Senate race and how they are correlated to which side the public believes. I’d say it’s a lot worse than Mr CIA thinks.

  6. I don’t even think this fraud was ever viciously attacked. She is caught up in the #Metoo movement and I think she took a rather minor teenage incident and inflated it all out of proportion. She wanted to evoke sympathy and attention as another “victim”.
I also don’t think Kavanaugh was the other person involved.
She has gotten what she’s wanted with all the attention and has elevated herself to rock star status with the #metoo crowd and being a radical leftist she’s a hero to the dems to boot.

  7. Polls, shmolls.

Who controls the media? Who controls the media polls?

Don’t believe a former CIA Democrat or his citations of polls.

(Anti-Trumper Brit Hume is sure getting a lot of air time these days at FNC.)

  8. The disgust I have on the “Go Fund Me” thing is high in that we have a gentleman that we helped raise that is currently going through a very difficult time with brain tumor and other extenuating circumstances. I’m thinking his “Go Fund Me” page will never see the dollars he needs and Dr. Ford’s has given her the retirement fund that anyone would be happy with.

  9. This whole scandal is like living in bizarro world. I can’t believe anyone could find Ford even the slightest bit believable. Who are these idiots? I had no idea IQs could go lower and people can still breathe!

It all makes sense however, when you add Trump’s name to the equation.

TDS is the problem, it has nothing to do with kavanaugh or ford.

  10. @ Lady In Red:

I had the opposite reaction. I found her teeny, frightened voice, coming from a doctor in psychology off-putting. Then I felt like she was using her training to imitate being a victim, or having PTSD… Then I was angered by her smiling and waving before kicking back into weepy-mode.

Of course, the facts weren’t there, but I found her PERFORMANCE offensive. Especially to those who are legitimate victims.

  11. I do hope the demonrats pay dearly in lost seats, and no gains in Nov. But voting isn’t over till the polls close, and honest legitimate votes must he enough to overcome demonrat vote fraud. Sorry, I can’t trust polls. They’re too often used to either suppress turnout or boost it. Rarely used to find the true mood of the country.
