Democrats’ ‘Shared Misery’ Gets an Audition with California’s Rolling Blackouts

PJ media:

California is going through a heatwave this week and that has put enormous strain on the state’s power grid.

The reasons are not complicated. There is not enough power being generated to service all electricity consumers in the region. How can that be? California is the leading state for generating power from “renewable” sources. There are more wind farms, solar homes, and natural gas power-generating plants than anywhere else in America.

And yet, the people who operate the electrical grid in California are warning of “rolling blackouts” as they desperately try to supply as many households and businesses with electricity as the system will bear. There’s not enough. more

They try to be fair about it by spreading the misery from neighborhood to neighborhood, blacking out one section of the city so that the other sections can get the power they need. If that isn’t a metaphor for Democratic Party governance, I don’t know what else is.

“Shared misery” is what we all can look forward to if the Democrats’ cockamamie “Green New Deal” becomes law. The bottom line is that unless you’re going to drastically and dramatically ramp up energy production from these “renewable” sources, we’re all going to suffer. more here

  1. I hope the blackouts last longer for all the progs, especially those in Hollywood who espouse the use of renewables while they fly in their dinosaur powered private jets, sail on their dinosaur powered private yachts, drive in their dinosaur powered stretch limos or high speed autos, and live, snort coke, and bang the next young actress in their multi-million dollar 30 room mansion. Enjoy living in the dark, mate. It’s not like you’ll see the light anytime soon even when the power is back on.

  2. Who ever wrote this is so full of shit. Here’s reality. There are 5 Utility Companies in California. PG&E, SoCal Edison are the two largest, SMUD, and a couple smaller ones. The Utility Company with the major issues is PG&E. Friends of the Rivers have stopped any new hydro electric construction. The State legislated that PG&E start investing in green production of energy. And here’s the major impact. The early investors and board member for PG&E were the Getty’s, Newsoms, Browns, and some how or other the Pelosi’s are there too. The Pelosi’s were still in the process of destroying Baltimore when PG&E was going public however it’s hard to tell how soon the connection with the Newsom family started. The investors have taken some serious profits from that company. Ironically some of those same investors legislated PG&E to failure. As far as shared misery, SMUD is a relatively well run organization and to my knowledge nobody is suffering from lack of power. Same goes with the two smaller Utilities. I’ve heard SoCal Edison has some problems but nothing compared to PG&E and I believe all their customers have power. So it’s pretty much limited to PG&E. There are a couple great Youboob videos that go into detail about the demise of PG&E. Worth watching.

  3. California used to be able to buy excess NW power during the summer. Now, the NW needs all of its power and California is too big of a consumer while they close nuclear power plants and plant bird choppers that don’t produce anything when the wind quits in 110+ degree heat.

They’re in a similar boat with water from the Colorado.

Inadequate power and water are brought about by people who can’t plan and build for the future. The other 49 states should think about kicking them out of the Union. They’re just going to demand endless bailouts from here on out.

  4. This article is a little over dramatized however it’s important to remember that Friends of The River have stopped any new Hydro Electric builds for quite sometime. The state passed legislation dictating Utility Companies spend their money on Wind and Solar which never panned out.

  5. It would be a damn shame if some Californians don’t get to see their great Senator, who claims she works so hard for the wellbeing of the citizens of the state, except her VP nomination because they have no electricity…..
