Whatever you want to call it, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is done with it. The lockdowns. The mask mandates. The business closures. The limited capacity. The vaccine passports. The State of Florida is now having none of it.

“The fact is, we are no longer in a state of emergency,” DeSantis said at a bill signing ceremony for SB 2006. “I think that’s the evidence-based thing to do. I think folks that are saying they need to be policing people at this point, if you’re saying that, then you’re really saying you don’t believe in the vaccines.” more

  1. I went out to eat Sunday, for the first time since this mess started. The (chain) restaurant required a mask until we were seated at our table (stupid), then all the booths had weird plastic barriers between them (even more stupid). Do they really believe the virus can’t drift over those barriers? They do nothing except make the restaurant owners/managers look like fools. The mask mandate may have been lifted here in Texas, but stupidity still reigns supreme.

  4. Got kicked out of Menards in Waukesha the other day. I refused to wear the diaper, they wouldn’t let me pay for my items. Wife was with (wearing) so she paid.
    I gotta remember that…

Meanwhile, Inslee in WA state is looking to roll back the two biggest countries to a more restrictive phase. 25% restaurant capacity instead of 50% and a bunch of other things that will impact small business. WA state is like 90% mask compliant and dutifully vetted the jab-but it’s not working I guess. 🤷‍♀️

    Often people use “your “ (possessive pronoun) for “you’re” (contraction for “you are”).
    Your post was the only time I’ve seen that reversed, i.e., contraction used for possessive pronoun.

  11. Watch out, Governor They’re going to try their best to fake up Florida covid cases and deaths. They’re going to try to hit you with a deafly covid mutation, like they did in India. They’re going to try to embargo vaccines to Florida (which may actually be a good thing) and make it look like it’s your fault that Floridians are catching and dying of covid in surging fake numbers. Of course, probably know this already..

  16. Today Governor Desantis was at a press event. He began to respond to a reporter’s question about his reaction to Flipflop Charlie announcement about running for Governor. Our Governor was cut off mid sentence.
    I tried to search and all searches take me to Charlie and his announcement.
