Desperate CBP offering up to $20K to hire new Border Patrol Agents

JTN:

Amid an unprecedented surge in illegal migration, an increasingly desperate U.S. Customs and Border Protection is now offering up to $20,000 to new Border Patrol Agents in recruitment incentives should they agree to deploy at a “hard-to-fill” location.

That figure includes $10,000 the agency will offer to any new Border Patrol Agents upon their completion of the academy and a potential $10,000 extra should they accept service at one of several high-need border sites. CBP offers up to $45,000 in yearly salary depending on location.

Those “hard-to-fill” locations include Sierra Blanca, Texas; Presidio, Texas; Sanderson, Texas; Comstock, Texas; Lordsburg, N.M.; Freer, Texas; Hebbronville, Texas; Ajo, Ariz.

Recipients of either the $10,000 or the full $20,000 must commit to a two-year service agreement. Other requirements include U.S. citizenship, possession of a valid driver’s license, eligibility to carry a firearm, and successful application.

  1. I suspect they would get more people IF the applicants felt their job had a purpose and was supported by the Jackass Administration.

Line up the military & Finish the WALL. The Narcos have very serious firepower just south.

  2. Nah. But I’ll sign up for sniper patrol.

My legs ain’t so good, but my target acquisition in total darkness is top notch at 1/2 to 3/4 mile. With practice on a calm night, maybe 2000+ yards.

Just another pest control job while out in the fresh air.

  3. Had a long time friend in AZ send me a pic that was supposed to be border patrol agents staging an attack.

Clearly south-of-the-border guys by the camo they were wearing.

Had to send some pics to her of what our border agents wear. Her attitude adjusted immediately to the truth of the matter.

    One of those lib-gets-educated moments.

  4. I imagine the training for new agents would be like a concierge at a hotel; greet all future Democrat voters with a smile, offer to carry their bags followed by a back rub, assign an ACLU attorney to expedite welfare payments, citizenship, and lodgings, then prostrate yourself, and in your most effusive manner, thank them for their presence, after all, diversity is our strength.

  5. “$45K???

THAT’S ABOUT $22.50/HR?? NOT MUCH MORE THAN MINIMUM WAGE TO PUT UP WITH THAT HORSESHIT?”

Ya gotta look at the bennies first, then consider that’s just starting wage. No bennies? sure. Bad deal. Family insurance and 401 contributions? That’s a start.

You do have to prove you’re worth keeping. Just like any job. 45K will feed your family. Better than making nothing.

  6. Levity is all we have left. In the land of the ridiculous and the absurd, with 5.5 million illegal crossings in the last 2 years, to think that we have an entity called “Border Patrol”. But then we also have something called The Office of Congressional Ethics, so it kinda makes sense.

  7. Relevant question: Are the BP agents that were cleared of “horsewhipping” illegal aliens still on desk duty, or are they back in the saddle? If an Agency can’t even back their exonerated employees, who would want to work for them ?

  8. First, tie their hands, then demonize them, then encourage the enemy to attack, then punish those who do their jobs during the attacks, then wonder aloud why no one wants to join up and be a member.

Works with police, works for border patrol, works all the way around. If your intent is to destroy, this program works well.
