Diehl: ‘Never Trump’ delegates acting like Beacon Hill Democrats

NewBostonPost: CLEVELAND — Hours after so-called “Never Trump” delegates unsuccessfully tried to force a roll call rules vote during the first session of the Republican National Convention, Beacon Hill’s most ardent Donald Trump supporter compared their efforts to the tactics he claimed are typical of Massachusetts Democrats: “bundling” separate issues together in order to prompt a divisive vote.

“Ideally this type of work should be done separately from the convention so that there isn’t sort of this artificial pressure to get these things wrapped up in order to make sure that everything is running smoothly for the candidate,” state Rep. Geoff Diehl (R-Whitman) said about Monday afternoon’s drama. “It should really be a separate issue in my opinion and the Democrats do that all the time — they try to bundle certain things into consolidated bills.”  MORE

  1. These ass holes crack me up. Here goes the world according to a machinist. I’ve argued with a couple of these retards recently. Here’s their bone of contention. “The Republican Party does not give the power to the individual voter it gives it to the delegates that can make up their own mind. If your so concerned you should becomes delegate”. Fascinating. My responce, fuck your rules., Trump received record votes and your going to disanfranchize the majority rules? Your a fucking clown. You get Cruz in, I won’t vote. And I’m far from alone.
Congrats, you just elected Hillary. They cry and stomp off. I got something else to add being an old dawg. The Bush’s left Reagan’s beliefs day one of G.H.s term. So all these ass holes screaming Reagan can kiss my ass. Trumps more like Reagan than anybody since Reagan. Read my lips.

  2. Cruz was not the dude the #NeverTrump peeps were trying to anoint. You Cruz haters need to get that thru your thick skulls. Cruz is a great conservative that bowed out gracefully and is going to be a yuge asset to President Trump on all the major issues you care about. If y’all continue to attack Cruz, you will drive away a large force that you need to win. Just stop doing that!

  3. Menderman, agreed, I’m good with that. Until same santamonious ass hole determines my vote doesn’t account for anything. That makes me really fucking pissed off. The Bush wing of the Republican Party doesn’t get that. Fools.

  4. @Menderman – I didn’t see Cruz step in to settle the Colorado delegation down. I didn’t hear Cruz release his delegates with the advice to vote for Trump. I haven’t heard Cruz endorse Trump as pledged even though Trump is giving him a coveted speaking spot.

I used to be a Cruz admirer but he has shown to be an underhanded panderer. His love of the Constitution extends only to how he can manipulate it for his benefit, not to protect the rights of the people as it was written.

PS – that Colorado Unruh broad attended the last 7 GOP conventions which gave us Romney (lost) McCain (lost) Bush (won 2) Dole (lost) Papa Bush (lost to Clinton).

80% of voters willingly voted AGAINST Cruz when they had a choice.

  5. If the #nevertrump gang got their way, Donald probably would win on the first vote, anyway. If you put all 17 original candidates in a room, their snoring would accomplish more good than Hillary has ever done.
