DNA technology and a genealogy website led law enforcement to make an arrest in a decades-old murder cold case in Texas this week, potentially solving the mystery behind a teacher’s shocking assault and death in 1995.

Beaumont, Texas teacher Mary Catherine Edwards was found sexually assaulted and drowned in her bathtub that year. A suspect has eluded police in the decades that have followed. more here

  1. My ex mother-in-law lived two doors down from the murdered woman when it happened. Rumor had it that a cop was involved but the case just faded away. Hmmmm! I hope they have caught the right person.

  2. Our local police accidentally sent DNA samples to geneolgy.com instead of crime lab. They still don’t have a suspect but they do know who his cousins are…
