Does dying make you a saint?

Patriot Retort:There’s an episode of “Major Crimes” where Detective Sanchez is under investigation for the murder of his mother’s homecare nurse.

When Mrs. Sanchez is questioned about the physical altercation between her son and her nurse that occurred several hours before the nurse is found dead, she rails against the guy. He was no good. Lazy, never on time. Dishonest.

But when she learns that her nurse was later killed in his apartment, Mrs. Sanchez shifts gears and mutters, “Oh, that poor boy.”

That’s what we’re seeing now with John McCain.

Suddenly his dying makes him a saint.

Honorable, decent – a man of integrity.

Like this tweet from Mitt Romney:

No man this century better exemplifies honor, patriotism, service,
sacrifice, and country first than Senator John McCain. His heroism
inspires, his life shapes our character. I am blessed and humbled by
our friendship.

Laying it on bit thick, aren’t you Mitt?

It would have been quicker if he just wrote, “Oh, that poor boy.”

Meanwhile, life in the real world goes on.

There’s a primary coming up in Arizona to choose the Republican candidate for Jeff Flake’s seat.

And when Tomi Lahren was there campaigning with Kelli Ward, she pointed out that Arizona didn’t need another RINO like John McCain or Jeff Flake.

What exactly was incorrect about this comment?

Nothing really.

But because John McCain’s impending death has made him a saint, her comment was met with “well-I-nevering” horror.  Read the rest

  1. Truth made you a traitor as it often does in a time of scoundrels.
    ~~Lillian Hellman

I don’t know what a scoundrel is like, but I know what a respectable man is like………..
    ~~Joseph de Maistre

John McCain, I never knew you to be a truthful, respectable man.

  2. Oh, gasp! How DARE they mention McCain’s name in a rally where the opposing candidate is a mccain pick! Meanwhile, I’m sure the other candidate is slobbering over mccain at HER rally, right? Oooh how DARE they mention his name!

  3. John McCain is, through no fault of his own, incapable of performing his duties as a US Senator. But a decent man with a true sense of duty to country would have given up the seat so someone else could.

  4. Well Uncle Al, you’ve got your wish. McCain has left this world. He’s gone.

The story hasn’t broken, but I have it on unimpeachable authority that Sen John McCain has died

  5. Mom said when you don’t have anything nice to say! @Different Tim, My mom said the same thing while uttering FUCK TRUMP! I’ll always love my Mamma,,,but enough of her political horseshit! This PTSD punk born with a silver spoon in his ass needed to pass on, and no proxy to the worthless wife! No different than Hillary believing she deserved to POTUS.

  6. What Sheet Romney said shows what a huge piece of sheet he is, and Outdoor John is even a bigger one. No need to hurry John, your seat will be kept warm for your arrival. Maybe it will be in the new Kennedy memorial wing!

  7. @Callmelennie,

From your lips to God’s ears. It can’t happen soon enough and my only regret is that he’ll be replaced with another RINO, Martha McSally.

I have GOT to get out of Arizona.

  8. It’s 8:35 p.m. EDT and news reports have come out that McStain has passed away. I’m not broken up aout it and have nothing further to say. That may sound harsh, but so be it.

  9. “Honor” and “character?” Just watch the clip of him thumbing down the American people who trusted him to abolish ObamaCare. Why did they think he’d abolish Obamacare? Because he SAID he would a million times and he CAMPAIGNED that he would!
And there he stood, like some Roman emperor, sentencing all of America to forced, government socialized medicine.
If he had an iota of honor or character he would have given up that seat when he became unable to serve.
His death will serve one purpose only – it’ll be his final Democrat Swamp gift to the liberal mentors he worships at The New York Times to use as a hammer to bash Trump and anyone else who didn’t march in lockstep.

  10. if he is ded, he ain’t no saint. Wasn’t a saint before, either.

on another hand, I just found out that “Lazy Lester” has passed away. There is a Saint.
He is the guy playing harmonica on a recent geico commercial. He did a lot for blues, especially ‘swamp blues’ and also introduced strong cajun influences. For him, I feel a loss and send my prayers.

  11. Yeah, the post Mortem sainthood schtick gave us 3 Saint Kennedys, a more vile and conniving family there never was.

Saint Martin Luther King, Jr. no comment, but I remember as a kid that many were less than respectful or complimentary.

    Saint KKK Robert Byrd.

    Saint Walter of Cronkite.

Saint Ronald Reagan, who was a damned good man and did many fine things to his immense credit and was sorely needed in his time, his beatification by some is almost embarrassing.

    Saint FDR. /spit.

Let’s leave the decisions about who is or isn’t a saint for the afterlife.

As for McCain? He was a nefarious character that did more harm than good to the American enterprise.
A little and petty man that harbored many grudges and acted vindictively against anyone who spoke out in opposition to his deep state sentiments.

  12. what frosts my nutz is that they tried every thing they could to keep this worthless shell alive … & spending every available taxpayer dollar to do it

think you & I would get the same consideration? not an ‘effin’ chance … & to further stir the pot … when you turn 80, if you have any condition, there’s not a country in the world that will bother to treat you … unlike Mr. McShitstain

  13. Sainthood is not automatic, but the cover of People magazine is.
Most direct route to a flattering photo on the front of the glossies at the checkout aisle is …to check out.

  14. No it does not.
You had best be right with God before you get to his front door,or its down you go.
As much as I dislike McCain I will not beat him up (and I know his story as it has been filtered through the press).
The smallest sin will keep you out of heaven unless you repent, lets hope he did. What is done is done we can not change that, but what we can change is the future and that is what we must do. McCain is gone but we are not,so what are we going to do?

  15. I start to feel sorry for him and then I see on the tv his arrogant face and hear all the lies about his being a hero. God save this country.

My thoughts tonight are with the Forrestal men. My prayers are for their families.

But tell me, how did he leave the Hanoi Hilton with NO bones showing?

  16. Self righteous elites like McCain remind me of this Holy Bible verse;
    Mark 8:36 -KJV
“For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?”
What’s the point of the world’s accolades without a relationship with God?

McCain was no saint. His narcissist mirror image was his god, not The True and Living God, which would have made him a saint. Nothing else.

  17. @Geoff C. The Saltine- one of wisest people I have yet met once told me- “make your peace with God the day before your demise.” Not the day of, but the day before. I think it is good advice, and it was even free,

    4
  18. The way he treated the American people by burdening us with Obamacare, to spite President Trump proves he only cared about himself. Not mourning anyone this hateful and callous.
Thank God for President Trump’s fearless efforts to put Americans first. Despite McCain’s traitorous behavior, President Trump will respectful honor him. That’s a lot more than McCain would do if the situation was reversed.

  19. “Praising the dead regardless of how they lived their lives is a form of virtue signalling.”

Yep. The dead can’t hear your words and God already knew what they were.

  20. toby miles,

That advice was bad. Making peace with God is impossible for us because we can’t reconcile our debt of sin. We are powerless before it.

But Someone did all the work for us…

“…and through Him [Christ] to reconcile to Himself [God] all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross.”

    Colossians 1:20
