Ambassador Ric Grenell, possibly the country’s most influential California conservative, floated the idea Sunday of a “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) to clean up state government there — and Elon Musk agreed.

When if ever has the Federal Government questioned how the program funds were spent?
An Audit of Federal Funds and programs provided to California undoubtedly will find corruption, fraud and waste.
DOGE it.
DOGE goes into Cali and watch the Leftist and RINO Politicians evacuate overnight to non-extradition countries.
“On Friday, Gov. Gavin Newson (D) wrote to Congress to request $40 billion in federal spending on damage from the recent Los Angeles wildfires. ”
And therein lies the problem. The individual states (mostly blue states) can spend recklessly on any boondaggle they want (healthcare for illegals, grants to cities for homeless care, exorbitant government salaries, start-up money for unrealistic green energy ventures, and payoffs to loyal donors like the teacher’s unions) and they all know that if they overextent or don’t plan for future contingenices, the Federal Government will always bail them out. How do you folks not living in California feel about your hard-earned tax money going to states poorly run and who hate you but will take your money?
Not only do I not want any federal dollars going to California, but I don’t think Sacramento should be bailing out the fire victims either. If you did not have fire insurance then that’s on your dumbass. You rolled the dice and lost.
@Rich – I may be wrong on this, as I do not live in Cali and I did not spend last night in a Holiday Inn Express hotel last night… But, I recall hearing that the California “government” restricted the amount of money an insurance company could charge for home insurance. This limits the amount of money an insurance company can keep on hand in order to handle large fires that can take out cities.
So, how are insurance companies supposed to survive if they cannot make enough money to cover paying out contractual agreements when the government not only refuses to do it’s job protecting communities from wildfires, but limits the amount of money they can charge for home insurance?
Cali brain dead legislators forced insurance companies to include earthquake insurance. So they left. Right before the fired.

I want every last dime of revenue that has been collected by state, regional, county and local government, school and library districts and agencies audited and a full, detailed and thorough accounting made before they receive one more goddamn dime of federal money for anything whatsoever. Just like my kids, if they have pissed away their own money, or money their mom gives them that doesn’t ever come with any expectations, if/when they come to me they have to SHOW me proof that they have been responsible enough to be trusted with my money.

By design. It was all part of the overall scheme to expropriate that real estate.
Government should have absolutely no say in what anyone can and cannot purchase with regard to insurance of any type. The benefits of making that so would far outweigh any and all problems government interference was sold as the solution to.
