The Dominican Republic has constructed a 12-foot high wall to safeguard its citizens from illegal entry and violence spilling over from neighboring Haiti, which has collapsed after becoming overwhelmed by escaped inmates.

Fox News reports the Caribbean nation isn’t taking chances on spillover violence, erecting a “Smart Security Fence” complete with cameras, night vision and a watch tower.

  1. I used to go on medical mission trips to Haiti. Crossing in from the DR was tight and creepy as hell for younger women in our group. They all seemed numbed to it. I can’t imagine how it is now if they’re actually taking heightened measures.

  2. Of course walls work, along with a will to use them. That’s exactly why the US government refuses to build one or use what they have on the Southern border. Does anyone still not understand this?
