Don’t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you

Liberty Zone: If you haven’t heard already (because the drama queen was very public about his decision, so people would ostensibly realize what a loss he was to the school) associate professor of history and American studies at the University of Kansas Jacob Dorman has tendered his resignation, because he got his mangina chafed at the state’s decision to allow concealed carry on campus. Because, you see, Dorman believes his cowardice, inability to control his bladder, and utter disdain for human rights should trump others’ right to defend himself.

  1. “In practical terms, concealed carry has proven to be a failure”

Well, you lose right there idiot. I love how these idiots state indiscriminate unsubstantiated facts like they are gospel. And statistically easily proven wrong.

  2. Well, I hope he has something waiting because an “associate professor” is a glorified high school teacher and are a dime a dozen. Adios Muchacho.

  3. You know, it just doesn’t seem that long ago when someone loudly protesting something — that wasn’t true to begin with — was a a regular and widely understood comedy sketch on SNL.

    “Endangered feces!” “Oh?” “Never mind.”

  4. He probably found out that he can make more money doin the winos behind the dumpster at Wal Mart.

But if he is sincere, then God Bless him and forgive him his willful ignorance.

Prancing and posturing is no way to go through life (unless you’re a politician or fully tenured professor).

    izlamo delenda est …

  5. A major premise of his resignation is that Kansas must recruit coastal progressive professors who are presumably anti-conceal carry in order to be prestigious. I have news for you, Mr. Liberal Arts professor – undergraduate students don’t choose universities because of any particular liberal arts professor, or usually even a liberal arts program.

There are lots of reasons universities are prestigious – excellence in the sciences, historical longevity, a good business school, its sports teams, good graduate programs, high job placement or illustrious alumni. I can’t think of a top tier university that attracts students just because of its undergraduate history or literature department.

I would even wager that some students attend a particular university despite the low quality of the liberal arts teaching staff. Be gone, associate history professor – no one at Kansas will miss you.

  6. If campus concealed-carry is all it takes to send liberal professors packing (no pun intended), then let’s spread concealed-carry far and wide to campuses across the nation!

  7. He probably thinks FBI statistics that refute his claim are a right-wing lie and conspiracy.

Had this argument with the boyfriend of a long time friend a few months ago. He didn’t “believe” the statistics of self defense with firearms. “Where do you get your made-up *facts*”?

    F.B.I.

    “I don’t believe you”

Then do your own homework. It’s not like the F.B.I. is gun friendly concerning citizen ownership and use.
