  2. @MJA – don’t think so, this is not Dartmouth…as in Animal House, iow Columbia does not know what parody and humor are, too many libs and leftists are there.

This is an example of self destruction as opposed to self preservation…file this is in the ‘unheard of’ category…

Animal House, mindless useless marching band scene:

  3. @Duke – have YOU attended Columbia or been on the campus??? I HAVE ON BOTH parts to answer my own question. They are a bunch of arrogant elitist fucking assholes, BELIEVE me.

Are we to be criticized on whether we read the actual article or not or perhaps sometimes do we have an experience withOUT having to read that linked story???

    Just askin’…

Some people just SUCK at making ASSumptions about other people too, ya eva think about that?

And some people went to public school and public college and not Columbia, so there is an excuse for bad reading comprehension I supppose?

  4. ghost of brig gen j glover-
He has a point, though. The non-reading-straight-to-commenting thing happens. Not just at this site, either.

And, one should always read the story.
Because at the link, it may only be a recipe. And then how does one look?
    lol.

  5. How about the marching band scene from The Great American Fourth of July by Jean Shepherd or Woody Allen playing a cello sitting down in a chair and having to constantly move the chair forward in Take The Money and Run. In the Great American Fourth of July the band leader with the baton does a fancy move by throwing the baton high up into air where it lands on a power line and shorts the electricity out causing all the old guys watching the baseball game to lose the rest of the game due to a massive power outage all over the town.

  6. I read the statement from the CMB and it is so groveling I thought it must be a satire.

I haven’t read such groveling since Neville Chamberlain licked Hitler’s butt in 1938.

So, Mr. Duke may have a point if we are misinterpreting it.

  7. @MJA – Well here we go! Yeah @Duke DOES have a point but why single anyone out or use cute terms like ‘some people’?

You have a beef?? Say it. Let me know. We can DISCUSS it! :>)

I would say I read about 90% of the linked articles. And maybe ALL the vids, and take them apart btw…

    FOR instance?

Anything that has to do with NYC, NY politics? I DO NOT HAVE TO READ THE LINK, the story if you will. Why you ask?

Turns out I know about it already, because? I LIVE HERE!!! MY WHOLE LIFE, iow I’ve heard that story, already, no offense.

Another example? When that HORRIBLE story about the boy and his dog being burned alive. DO I need to read the rest of the story to post how fucked up that is???

Am I being defensive? YES. I do not take kindly to being defined.

“let ye who have last sinned, throw the first stone”…or something like that. I don’t quote the Good Book well…

Oh, and I linked to Animal House as a conduit to the real parody and chaos.

    Respectively,

    Ghost

  8. Columbia is also the alma mater of Lou Gehrig who played on their college baseball team. As well as Whittaker Chambers a one time communist who had a epiphany and a spiritual awakening about the evils of communism and became a staunch anti communist in his later years and exposed Alger Hiss as a commie working inside the US government. For which the left never forgave him and made Alger Hiss a cause celebre and martyr.

  9. Hey, I’m with AnonTrooper, Yawn! I went to a public High School in the Bronx and there was no PEP rallies or any Marching Bands that I know of or ever heard or saw! Whatever, too much going on to worry about what these Universities are worrying about when it comes to the history of their Marching band. Pleeeeease, this sh-t has been going on since 2008 when O was elected and they should have starting to trace the past of their Marching Band then. So So Silly. Don’t waste energy.

Oh, I read the articles. Some make my head explode and others I just roll my eyes and move on.

    God Bless us all!

  10. @ghost of brig gen j glover:
With all due respect, did I address you in my previous comment? That said, I reiterate my statement about reading comprehension. I didn’t say “some people” as you seem to have read. Just sayin’

  11. jeez Louise, lighten up everyone … the article left a bit to one’s guesses. was it actual fact? was it satire? was it an attempt at levity? & should we be shocked that Columbia’s marching band is being ‘clever’ by quitting … or maybe not quitting?

… who cares? we comment regardless… gotta get me some ‘like’ dopamine thingies.

the other night I posted a comment questioning the age of a frozen bear found in Siberia … after I read the article (& yes, sometimes I don’t read the whole article either). then I re-read the article (while closing one eye & putting one foot on the floor to help stop the spinning 😉 ) & discovered the age was mentioned in the last paragraph … somehow I missed it, to my great shock & embarrassment. Oh, how could I live this down? luckily I still had enough time to delete my mistaken post

anyway, my point is to enjoy the posts you like, give the commenter a thumbs-up, or move on … it’s not mandatory that you like every post

… but criticism is welcome just the same

    did I comprehend that?

… I’m rambling on, so I guess it’s time to …. ramble on

  12. They are not a marching band like Ohio State.

The only videos i saw of them on Y-tube are a small group of what seem to be fans with instruments watching their football team get creamed every weekend.

Don’t worry folks, this shit will run out of steam when the younger people get good and fed up with the lies their professors sold them and eventually start to work in what real jobs remain after the Plandemic.

  13. Ever hear of the Southern Heritage Classic? It’s an early season game in Memphis between Tennessee State and Jackson State. The football is secondary to the “Battle of the Bands”at halftime.
