Have you ever been in a situation so bleak that it seemed as though it would never change? Maybe you had things going wonderfully in your life, and then suddenly you were hit with a severe illness or the loss of a loved one. You didn’t know how you were going to get through it.
Researchers have found that disappointment is one of the most challenging emotional experiences. An article from The Cut pointed out that “the feeling is inextricably linked with the brain chemical dopamine.”
When something good happens to you, dopamine is released. You get almost an emotional rush. Or maybe something exciting is coming, like your birthday. So, you post it on social media, but no one acknowledges it. First, you get the double dopamine rush, and then you experience the double downer afterward. It’s an actual chemical reaction ushering in disappointment.
A lot of things can happen to cause us to feel that way.
Maybe something traumatic happened in your family.
Many in America and around the world are filled with stress and anxiety, which is understandable because of the pandemic, inflation, and the ongoing war in Ukraine. Psychologists have even coined a new phrase, “Doomsday Anxiety.” This includes the fear or worry about the end of the world of life as we know it.

Jesus can still change your situation. His victory did not end at Easter. Look to Him and not at the world around you. The world will pass away, but He never will. He is risen indeed!

I don’t listen to psychologists. Doomsday Anxiety? Really? We used to say life has its ups and downs. Stop it with the thumb sucking and bed wetting and soldier on.

@PHenry: Have you ever listened to Jordan Peterson? I think he has sound advice on depression, etc. However, prayer asking for healing normally works. I can testify to that – I’m like the cat with nine lives. I’m convinced the Lord saw me through it all.
I think it was Augustine, “our soul never rests till it rests in him” … We all long for that rest in God whether we know it or not.
Recently I got a diabetic ulcer on my heal. I feel like I have had to sleep for a month on antibiotics injected and oral. Wound changes are every day with a variety of care. It’s been a month and this thing is still healing. I don’t like it but I know God has a purpose for me even if I lose my foot.

You cannot understand what it means to worship YHWH in Spirit and Truth if you do not read, understand and take to heart the WHOLE OF HIS WORD. There is no means to understand the Word of the Son and His apostles, unless you know and understand the Word of the Father.
There is only one standard to living a set apart (holy) life for the children of YHWH, and Yahshua exampled it perfectly. The Word, written and in the flesh, are for our example in walking out The Way, Truth and Life in faithful obedience to the Father. Any revision to THE standard set forth by our Sovereign Creator has ALWAYS come from the stony heart of man, as it is to this very day.
The Savior did NOT do it all for us, He did that which we could not do. It is to each individual to work out their own salvation with fear and trembling, make themselves ready as a bride for the King.
Deut 18:18 I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. 19 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. 20 But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other elohim, even that prophet shall die.

Luke 24: 44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the TORAH of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Who is Israel? Is it the man made secular state of today? No, in now way. In short, it is a people who are Set Apart (holy) to and for Him, as defined by Him in His own Word. It does not matter your blood line, natural or the grafted in stranger, it is the heart that is the matter.
Which Israel was allowed to inherit the Land by the irrevocable covenant promise of YHWH? When was Israel punished and sent into exile? When were they restored/renewed into the land? If you claim to be in covenant with YHWH, by trusting the sacrifice of YHWH’s Pesach Lamb, then you are Israel and need to walk, talk and love Him in the Way which Yahshua loves our Father in Heaven. Yahshua was an Hebrew, Jewish Rabbi and walked out the Torah perfectly. Teaching that Messiah Yahshua fulfilled the Torah so we don’t have to, is analogous to saying that Messiah Yahshua came to Love the Father perfectly, so we don’t have to.
Only by erroneous presupposition can anyone make such an empty proclomation. No where within the whole of the witness of YHWH is there any statement by YAH Himself or any of His messengers or prophets that would allude to anything other than a repairing, restoring, rebuilding and renewal of His people, nation and Kingdom via the same mercy, love and favour which He has always renewed ALL things.
How many times is it stated in the TaNaKh and affirmed in the Apostolic letters:
The Word of YAH is from eternity past to eternity future?
The Word of YAH will not return to Him void or empty. He will do ALL of His good pleasure.
To know and love YHWH is to guard His Torah
To be declared righteous is to be faithfully obedient (in covenant)
To judge by any other standard than His Word/Torah (written and in the flesh) is an abomination to Him
Deut 10:
12 And now, Israel, what doth יהוה thy Elohim require of thee, but to fear יהוה thy Elohim, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve יהוה thy Elohim with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
13 To keep the commandments of יהוה, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
14 Behold, the heaven and the heaven of heavens is יהוה’s thy Elohim, the earth also, with all that therein is.
15 Only יהוה had a delight in thy fathers to love them, and he chose their seed after them, even you above all people, as it is this day.
16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.
17 For יהוה your Elohim is the mighty one of the elohim , and Sovereign of sovereign, a great El, mighty, and terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh bribes:
18 He doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger, in giving him food and raiment.
19 Love ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt.
20 Thou shalt fear יהוה thy Elohim; him shalt thou serve, and to him shalt thou cleave, and swear by his name.
21 He is thy praise, and he is thy Elohim, that hath done for thee these great and terrible things, which thine eyes have seen.
22 Thy fathers went down into Egypt with threescore and ten persons; and now יהוה thy Elohim hath made thee as the stars of heaven for multitude.
Just as YHWH did with Israel the first time, He will once again bring His Israel out from ALL Nations which they have been driven. What many term as the Greater Exodus.
Jer 16:14 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith יהוה, that it shall no more be said, יהוה liveth, that brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt; 15 But, יהוה liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers.
There are many direct and indirect references to this still to come event.
