Elon Musk on Tuesday proposed charging commercial and government Twitter users but promised that the social media platform would always be free for casual users.

  1. Need a commercial blue check mark for commercial users also allowing us to identify propaganda faster. Or just block anyone with that badge lol.

  2. Define “slight”.
But I like that. Commercial customers want free advertising?
    Nah. Homie don’t play that.
I would make exception to small business owners with 3 or less employees.
Which may be difficult to verify and keep track of.
Many/most of them are running on slim profit margins, and need as many breaks as possible to be able to take home a paycheck.

  3. Seems right. After all, the IRS tax-charges marketplace users such as eBay and facebook sellers when they make $600+. IRS found out some time ago they can make mega-coin on the backs of private sellers and cottage industry. Musk’s fees to govt shouldn’t be “small”, all things considered.

Sounds great until you think it through.
Government will pay by taxing the citizens and commercial will be paid by the consumer that uses their service.

True. Just like the idea of socking it to corporations that provide the public goods and services always socks it to the consumers.
