Emmys ratings hit record low

Breitbart: The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards on Fox drew a record low viewership on Sunday as TV fans opted to tune out of the telecast that featured woke celebrities lecturing America on issues including the gender pay gap and transgender rights.

Sunday’s broadcast drew a paltry 5.7 rating and a 10 share in the overnight metered market ratings, down 23 percent from last year’s Monday night show on NBC and down 30 percent from the preliminary rating for the 2017 ceremony, which aired on a Sunday night on CBS, according to Variety.

Deadline noted that the figures represent the “lowest rating the annual ceremony has achieved in early metrics.” read more

  1. I think maybe I watch part of the Emmys one year. To show you how long ago that was, someone won an Emmy for the show The Paper Chase and said it was funny that it won several Emmys but was canceled because of low ratings that were the result of the show being moved on the schedule three or four times in one season.

Also, just how many awards shows are there now? Maybe when there were the Oscars for movies and Emmys for TV they meant something, but now those, the Golden Globes, the People’s Choice, and several others make it hard to care.

Add to that these rich elitists lecturing us about everything make them a little hard to stomach.

  2. The only thing comes to my mind is one year an American Indian woman in costume came out for (Brando?) and had an agenda–like 45 years ago? Also seems like there was a streaker once on one of these programs

  3. Some woman used to do great, snarky commentary for the Emmys, Oscars, etc. and I enjoyed reading that the day after. I would never watch any of those.
I started watching Fleabag on a whim a couple of months ago, it is definitely R-rated but I thought a fantastic show. Each season built with every episode to a powerful moment of grace. I will watch that again, perhaps more than once.

  4. I don’t watch the awards shows anymore but I do track what the fashion for that night is. The Daily Mail usually has great photos of all the dresses and stars. I thought this years dresses were oddly 80’s inspired without the sophistication. 🤔 Lotsa reeeally bright colors and satin and shiny fabrics…and prairie style dresses in dark weird fabrics. Many with ill fitting tops and awkward cleavages.

It was like ‘Dynasty’ but with more nastiness. I’m amused that that era was Reagan. This is the fashion Hollywood chose to emulate (badly!) during the Trump years? 🤷‍♀️

  5. Ha Ha! Serves ’em right. Pervs, murderers, and America-haters trying to tell us how to behave and what to believe.

The filthy bastards. I hate them more every day, and this hate I have for them is completely justified.

  6. Well heck. Don’t tell me I missed three hours of being preached at by Hollyweird morons about climate change, bad Orangeman, “migrants” rights (*gag*) and the wonders of being transgender. Not to mention the red carpet walk of freak show shame.
    No thanks.

  7. All these entertainment and media awards shows are just industry events. A bunch of people giving awards to their own. I think a national sales meeting would be a lot more fun.

  8. Better Call Saul gets shutout while Fleabag, and shitty show that only asshole faggot critics like gets two Emmys… and, of course, every fag show like Ru Paul’s walked away with a few.

Hollywood no longer gives a shit what real people like. They’re in the business of trying to covert everyone into a faggot or a communist.

  9. Who gives a shit what Hollywood thinks? For intellectual stimulation you’d be better off visiting a homeless camp and interviewing a few Freeway Exit Ramp ‘WILL WORK FOR FOOD’ franchise owners and asking them to pontificate on their success stories.

  10. Unfortunately, doling out things like Nobel Peace prizes to completely unworthy individuals set the ‘awards bar’ so low that we have unmitigated disasters believing themselves to have what it takes to be POTUS.
