  1. @Different Tim:

    Wouldn’t it be better to spend their money on a high speed train?

    Heh!

    After some careful (and deranged) thought, I’ve concluded that it would be better to spend their money on high powered lawyers to defend they guy they hire to rub out Newsom.

  2. Politicians and government bureaucrats have no fear of doing illegal things. The worse thing that happens is the crime gets “looked into” or “investigated”. Then it’s over. Never mind, carry on.

    Well, otoh, once in while there is an exception, but only if it’s something really bad, a low level pawn may get sacrificed. The masterminds still go free.

    ================
    California has 29,830,797 register vehicles based on the State CA-DOT website. Of that roughly 97+% are fossil fuel powered.

    Fossil fuel Vehicles generally last 8 to 12 years.
    2035 is 15 years out. Battery powered vehicles last 5 to 7 years with a $17.5K Battery Change out cost at 8 years.

    So somebody better start making a lot of batteries quick and figure out were all the needed the Electricity to recharge and power these vehicle is going to come from.

    OBTW: Lithium Rechargeable Battery manufacturing produces a hell of a lot of Eco-Harmful waste products. Recharging 29 Million vehicles daily would require additional Nuclear Power plants to keep them charged. Nuke Plants take 7 to 10 years to build and cost $8 billion each IF ECO-PROTEST GROUPS don’t interfere.

    Solar Power manufacturing is even MORE eco-dirty than Nukes and Fossil fuels. Working roughly 9 months of the year and 6 to 8 hours of those days. Solar cell panels claim 20 years but seem to need replacing about every 10 to 12 years and require 7 to 9 years of production to break even.
