Breitbart London: The European Union (EU) is less than a month away from voting to introduce aggressive new online copyright laws and “widespread censorship” measures, which critics say could strangle new media websites and stifle satire and online meme culture.
Unelected European Commission bureaucrats have drafted legislation which detractors say could force online platforms to monitor and control all uploads to some platforms with “content recognition technologies”. They are also said to have proposed what has been termed a ‘link tax’, which could compel blogs and other websites to pay just to reference content. more here
Oppressive regimes REQUIRE censorship.
The EU is no exception.
Just as in the UK, France, Spain, Cuba, Zimbabwe, CA, NY, OR, WA, DC and other tyrannical oligarchies, freedom of thought is dangerous – and must be stopped!
“Thought” crimes become, increasingly, more punishable than actual violent crimes (particularly by “protected” species and groups) and, of course, infinitely more punishable than corruption in gov’t.
izlamo delenda est …
The EU economy is collapsing because no one wants to try to hard for a shitty unelected bureaucracy flooding your country with raghead motherfuckers.
Worthless idiot bastards. Fuck ’em.
Some of my Web pals, including People’s Cube and iOTW Report, are not going to take too kindly to being censored off the Internet.
It really is becoming Germany 1933. That’s no longer a throw-away line.
Need to pick a day where everyone stays off the internet, refuses to buy online and bring it to it’s knees. Any other ideas? We’ve got to do SOMETHING!
Could this be circumvented by using non-EU hosting services?
And if access were blocked, using non-EU persons to upload the content?
Is this EU’s EMP?
@ janitor, a lot of tricky problems can be circumvented by using a VPN, but it has to be the right one (look up 5 eyes, 9 eyes). That’s for getting the information. As far as getting it out there, there are a few hoops to jump, but it can be done. Surreptitiously.
At the end of this, it’s two problems, one stone.
Paying for the migrants.
Keeping the populace so in the dark they don’t even know where the doors are.
