Europe: Doctor suggests killing patients who want to donate organs

ONN: A proponent of euthanasia continues to create a stir worldwide after taking lives in his native Europe.

Dr. Marc Cosyns, who was cleared of a murder charge in for killing an 88-year-old in 2008, now suggests killing patients who want to donate organs — by removing the organs while they are still alive.

Alex Schadenberg of the Euthanasia Prevention Coalition explains why: you can’t donate a dead heart.

“You can donate other organs but you can’t donate your heart because euthanasia, of course, stops the heart from beating,” he tells OneNewsNow. “That’s how they do it. They give you a three-drug system but the final drug is to stop your heart from beating, so it makes it impossible for heart transplants after euthanasia.”

Cosyns has told the media as many as 1,000 people are euthanized each year who have not requested it.  more

  1. The live liver donor from Monty Python’s movie The Meaning of Life was the first thing that came to my mind. The next thing they’ll do will be to legalize murder in order to harvest viable organs from people who are enemies of the state. Planned Parenthood is already illegally doing this harvesting organs and other body parts from unborn children and selling them for a profit. This is nothing more than pure evil and a further coarsening of societal norms because human life is not sacred anymore.

  2. That’s why I never agree to put that I’m a donor on my driver’s license.

“Dr., this one just came in from an auto accident and only has a broken leg.”

“Well, check her license. If she is a donor, let’s break her neck, too.”

    “YES! She’s a donor!”

    “Cha-ching!”

Besides, who hasn’t seen the movie “Coma”?

  3. …in all seriousness, I agree with @geoff the aardvark when he says “This is nothing more than pure evil and a further coarsening of societal norms because human life is not sacred anymore.”.

This is the logical result of what happens when people no longer fear God nor honor His creation.

    This is a reprobate mind.

    “28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

    Romans 1:28-32

…God gets the last word, though…

“1 Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things.

2 But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.

3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

    Romans 2 1-3

  4. This is a lot better than the Native Indian, Mexican, Incan, or Amazonian who kill patients to eat their organs. When you remove the pesky “consent clause” eatin’ becomes fun again.
    Just ask Liver-Eating Johnson.

  5. “Besides, who hasn’t seen the movie “Coma”?”

Point well taken, @Claudia, but the book was better. They usually are.

I found Geneviève Bujold’s accent distracting for what was supposed to be a local gal, and the concept of running a tissue business with unaware patients for unknowing donors is a gripping enough story without grafting the feminist ‘Women be Good Doctors Too’ moral into it, which was more of an issue then than it is now, true, but it was still a side quest issue.

It did made the point well, though. Make SURE your kin know your wishes, and BELIEVE me, the hospital will TRY to talk them into parting you out as SOON as possible, been there, done that, have the bloody T-shirt…

  6. I will continue to refuse to be an organ donor and will not reconsider until donors (donors’ estates) can legally sell the organs. An awful lot of people make an awful lot of money out of the transplant bidniss, but the owners are refused compensation.

I own myself, dammit. I have the right to dispose of my own property as I see fit.

  7. When it comes to hospitals and the practice of medicine – particularly in urban areas – I usually recommend that patients do not sign a “Do Not Resuscitate” order or agree to prior organ donation. Instead, I recommend that these persons obtain a health care power of attorney and let their family member(s) make these decisions in accordance with their wishes.

It’s not that I don’t trust hospitals or doctors – I do at present. But as we slide towards nationalized and overly regulated health care, and as we as a society demonstrate that we value human life less and less, I anticipate that there will be pressure on hospital and medical administrators to “encourage” tough cases to expire or grab organs from otherwise healthy donors. These are decisions that should be made by the family, and not the institution.

Of course, when it comes to progressive politicians, I encourage harvesting their organs even if it’s in the waiting room and the progressive politician is just visiting.

That is so true. Had a relative who was contacted by the organ harvesting ghouls before the hospital had even informed her that her son had been found unresponsive and admitted to the hospital. The poor lady was in the early stages of dementia and struggled to even understand what she was being told. Other family members knew that relative was in hospital and were on their way to explain to her what had happened and be there for her when she received the news. But, no, the ghouls were too desperate to carved him up to wait. This experience turned me off completely to the idea of organ donation.

  9. No kidding. That’s why I turn down the DMV donor list every time. When I lived in CA, they were attempting to pass a law so that you were forced to do it.

Like some of you have said, let your fam know what you want done. Or make a note of it and tattoo it on your chest. And let everybody know your kids or your mom n ‘nem get first dibs if they need a replacement. Don’t let the bureauweenies do it for you.

  10. A medical directive is the best way to assure you are not “giving away” body parts or subject to any other creepy things only Liberals dream up. The directive has to be certified and should be filed with the state. I also have given several relatives and friends certified copies of my papers, just in case.
This is important in my case as I have 3 different types of cancer and would not want it passed on to another person.

  11. The scenario from the great Michael Crichton book “COMA” !
Thanks for all the helpful replies here.
I believe (Maryland ?) suggested an opt OUT on driver’s license.

  12. I spent the day consulting my organs, and every one of them wants to be a donor. The only prick in the bunch is my brain, so I suppose they can leave that one alone.

  13. Just so that you all realize, dead people don’t donate organs. “Brain dead” is not a scientific term. There are in excess of $2 million in parts that can be harvested from you, not just major organs.
