Evicted Former Owners of ‘Little Red House’ in Portland Living in a Second Home They Own

PJM: The ‘Little Red House” in Portland has become another lightning rod for activists looking to upend the system and ordinary people wanting sanity to prevail. Essentially, a black family, the Kinneys, lost the house through foreclosure in 2018 and have refused to leave, leading to confrontations between police and protesters wishing to stop the “gentrification” of the neighborhood.

Another victim of capitalism, right? Well, not exactly. Instead of the poor black family getting thrown out into the street, as they are being portrayed by activists and the media, are doing quite nicely in a second home they own. read more

Everybody loves Charley Pride. He lived in Helena MT when i was a kid. Family friends also worked at the smelter and remember Charley with great fondness. He played baseball in Helena too. I loved seeing him on the Opry, I just love his music.

  3. It’s not even a particularly nice house, either. Give them five minutes warning, and then send in the bulldozers to level the whole fucking thing. Let them occupy an empty lot in the middle of a Pacific Northwest winter.

  4. I see the media grievance industry is full of shit as usual. Most families are lucky to own 1 home, these so called “victims” own more then one. More of a case of too cheap to pay the mortgage, no sympathy what so ever.

  5. So the mom bought two houses in the 50’s and 60’s, before the great society, the civil rights act and affirmative action. When redlining was allegedly rampant. Now the kids have lost one and I’m sure will find a way to lose the second house too. Gentrification sounds like a great idea to me, fix up the old homes, clean up the area. Of course, this would require work.

  6. Anon 1:31,
    “Pacific Northwest winter”.
    Now THERE’S a great idea.
Instead of calling in the police to shoot the invaders with bullets (bloody, messy, and lots of angry), call in the fire department to shoot the invaders with water. Lots of it. And often. It’s difficult to stay angry when you’re wet, cold and shivering.
