Facebook bans Antifa accounts, other groups promoting violence

PM: Facebook is taking action against Antifa and other “offline anarchist groups that support violent acts amidst protests.”

Admins released a press statement today updating the site’s policy towards violent networks in the United States, titled, “An Update to How We Address Movements and Organizations Tied to Violence.”

“Today we are taking action against Facebook Pages, Groups and Instagram accounts tied to offline anarchist groups that support violent acts amidst protests, US-based militia organizations and QAnon,” Facebook officials prefaced the statement.

Facebook admins already remove content calling for or advocating violence and ban organizations and individuals who proclaim a violent mission under the site’s Dangerous Individuals and Organizations policy.

“However, we have seen growing movements that, while not directly organizing violence, have celebrated violent acts, shown that they have weapons and suggest they will use them, or have individual followers with patterns of violent behavior,” officials conceded. more

  1. @MJA: The money needs to stop. The DOJ has got to track the money grants to BLM from various institutions and Antifa’s Soros’ (and apparently other) funding sources to monies given to arrested rioters. And then the enablers up those chains of command need to be wiretapped, Internet- and bank-tracked and caught in the act. If the DOJ doesn’t do this, this sets a dangerous precedent that ANY foreign power or internal source could cause an internal war on U.S. soil – if they already aren’t (e.g. China).

  2. I don’t do Facebook. No FB account. But my bet is FB hasn’t banned politicians that are celebrating these violent acts.

However, the strongest celebrating politicians are the ones with the responsibility to put a stop to it. But are not. Celebrating the violence, not so much with words, as by their inaction to put an end to it. The s__thole creation enablers.

  3. Fecesbook of which I no longer participate because of it’s power hungry censorship shouldn’t be violating our first amendment rights in the first place or banning any-fucking-body.

  4. Ah, so this is why the QAnon questions to McEneny and POTUS Trump in their WH pressers today. Trying to trap the president into some sort of affiliation with Q.

It’s so hard to be a hack journo and not telegraph your moves.

Trump’s response to questions asking what he knew about the “QAnon movement” was only to say, “I think they like me a lot.”

  5. Sorry, Having watch Facebook play games for years there is a underlying business reason.

BTW: Due to old fashion morals, respect of wife and family I have never had a Social Media Diary for the whole world to read read of our problems.
