For the first time since it started in 1998, the FBI’s gun background check program passed 400 million last month when another 2.7 million were conducted.
The number has been on a fast rise since the 2020 presidential election followed by growing safety concerns due to COVID-19 and city riots.
The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, said it has been used 400,540,500 times since the first was done in November 1998. The NICS was created by the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act, which was authored by Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and signed by former President Bill Clinton in 1993. read more
In a decade or two US citizens will equal the Afghan arsenal Biden gave the Taliban.
That doesn’t even include people like me who have a CHL. When we buy guns, we don’t have to go through the FBI background check during purchase. We are pre-cleared.
Comforting to know I’ll never ever fill out another 4473.
Comforting to know what powder, primers and bullets you have…
Comforting to know anything with a paper trail is long past ten years old.
And guess who is at the top of the domestic terrorist list?
That includes me with my M&P .40 and 1911 .45

I think Biden has a hard on for 9mil. Most of the inner city shooters seem to be using 9mil. So in Joe’s mind if he eliminates 9mil, the problem goes away. Now who can argue with that logic.
400 mil in a country of less than 350 mil?
Do you have to pass another BG check for every gun you buy?
No wonder the hood rats just steal them.
And that doesn’t include all of the 80% blanks that were sold this past year.
I had some of those ghost guns, but they disappeared…
@Brad, I understand, but I prefer the larger caliber stopping power. I know the 9 mil is all the rage. “they” don’t know what they are talking about. Let me put up my .40 or .45 against a 9mil. Don’t get me wrong, a trained person with a 9 may take me down, but …
@roger M&P 40 my EDC also still have my 38 30 plus years nowseaoh too put some lead down range today.
@Burner you don’t have to pass a BG for every gun but every purchase. if you but 2 or three guns at one time that is one background check, if you come back a week later to buy another gun you need another background check.
