In a decisive legal victory for the Trump administration’s initiative to streamline government operations, a federal judge has denied a motion by labor unions to block the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), led by Elon Musk, from accessing sensitive systems within the Department of Labor.
The lawsuit, brought by one of the largest labor unions in the U.S., aimed to obstruct what they described as Musk’s “imminent plan” to delve into the Labor Department’s systems.
On Wednesday, the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, along with four of its affiliated unions and the Economic Policy Institute, filed a lawsuit to block Elon Musk and his DOGE team from gaining access to Department of Labor data.
The unions argued that such data sharing would violate the Privacy Act of 1974 and potentially jeopardize the privacy of workers across the nation.
“Elon Musk has absolutely no business raiding the Department of Labor to obtain the sensitive personal information of workers,” said AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler. more
“…what they described as Musk’s ‘imminent plan’ to delve into the Labor Department’s systems.”
In other words, the union leaders don’t want the payments to them to end. There is a reason union leaders back Democrats while the rank and file are turning away.
your time is coming, robe-******
Has anybody else had their fill with this fucking back and forth federal judge bullshit?
Fix this with One Easy Hack!
Put the whole thing on Administrative Leave pending downsizing. And, since it is to be a “black box: to the auditors (can you spell Inspector General? I knwo you could) then simply shut it down (make and input) and see what the result is.
I’ve got no use for unreliable headline grabbing lies, damn lies, and statistics therefore no use for the pople who produce them.
Why would the government need to possess “sensitive personal information of workers”?
^^^ And what do they need to hide??
it appears the only sensitive information is who was in on the grift and for how much
robe-***** gots to protect the rat-mofo party
@lowell – SSN is considered sensitive personal information, or PII (Personally Identifiable Information.)
But, the ‘government’ already has access to PII of EVERYONE and DOGE is now part of the US government.
the robe-***** can try to enforce it
IF you have NOTHING to hide, the truth will prove your innocence.
On a similar note: If you haven’t committed a crime, you don’t need to be pardoned.
The usual loudmouth leftists are running their pie holes complaining about DOGE revealing to the entire country what their taxes are funding. So, let’s revisit your vehement objections to my assertions that to conceding good intentions to you assholes is at best to fall into a trap and/or complicity in your effort to advance your wicked and evil political agenda. Let’s discuss that in context of you hiding what you have been supporting. If you are hiding what you support, then why exactly is it that you do you not want to end what you are ashamed to have others find out about you object to putting a stop to?

I know you’ve all probably seen it by now on X, but Musk captured the situation perfectly by stating that the ones who yell and object the loudest are the dishonest ones who are trying to hide their crimes. Musk said, “..that’s the biggest tell.”
Other reasons career staffers are angry and upset is that it will come to light that all the money that was supposed to go to system upgrades and better systems security will have been squandered on old platforms that are no longer supported or fixable and they probably have internal security controls one could drive a Mac truck through.
