Federal Jury Says Katy Perry Copied Christian Song ‘Joyful Noise’

A federal jury in Los Angeles found that pop star Katy Perry committed copyright infringement with her 2013 hit, “Dark Horse,” which was too close to a Christian rap song entitled, “Joyful Noise,” penned by artist Marcus Gray and his co-writers, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The case will proceed to the penalty phase to determine how much Perry must pay to settle the case. more

    That’s about it. She was raised by Christian parents, but apparently decided that Christianity was an impediment to having a singing career.

    I guess it is.

    Her songs, if they can be called that, are not ear-friendly, as far as I am concerned.

  2. Perry is a preacher’s kid, and no surprise she’s a secular entertainer. PKs don’t have a great record of faithfulness to Christ.
    Believe it or not music stars steal songs all the time. Rarely do they get caught. No sympathy for Perry. She made her choice – time to pay up.
