Pluralist: A woman in an Illinois prison says her rape by a transgender fellow inmate was the subject of an attempted cover-up by the Illinois Department of Corrections, according to a federal lawsuit filed last week.
The woman in question, an inmate at the Logan Correctional Center in central Illinois, is referred to in the lawsuit as Jane Doe, a pseudonym.
She claims the incident took place in June 2019 and that she was strong-armed by a supervisory officer into denying the assault had occurred, Public Broadcasting Service station WTTW reported.
The correctional officer subsequently punished Jane Doe for filing a “false” complaint, according to the lawsuit. read more
And if she had the chance, she would vote Democrat, keeping in place people who make decisions like letting mentally ill male criminals reside with their potential female victims.

Good reason not to go to prison in the first place. Still, that shouldn’t happen.
