BearingArms: Florida has decided to expedite more than 50,000 concealed carry permit applications for active duty members of the military and military veterans. According to Florida Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam, the decision stemmed from the attacks against military personnel in Chattanooga last summer.
“The men and women who serve and have served our country deserve all of the support we can provide,” Putnam said. MORE
I dug down to the state’s page on this and I’m still unclear on what the difference is regarding military service related applicants vs everyone else.
Are they saying they are jumping them up to the head of the line and processing anyone service-related before mere common citizens?
I’m not sure what this is really saying, at this point.
How can they be 50,000 applications behind? Does that mean they’ve been holding applications/approvals back for some reason? I thought Florida was right-to-carry. Indiana has 15 days to process a carry permit and I haven’t heard they’ve ever been behind. Sounds like Florida police and/or bureaucrats aren’t as 2A-friendly as I thought.
When the shit hits the fan does anyone really think it’ll matter whether you live in a carry state or not?
Freedom requires NO justification.
