A good turnout is expected at Thursday’s first-ever “Florida Deregathon,” a state-sponsored summit aimed at identifying and eliminating “unnecessary regulations” that hurt small businesses and licensed trade workers.
Gov. Ron DeSantis will host the all-day event at Valencia College in Orlando. He will be joined by Lt . Gov. Jeanette Nuñez, Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) Secretary Halsey Beshears and representatives from 23 professional licensing boards. more here

As a {X} mechanical contractor I’ve been screaming about this for years. The hoops to jump through to get and especially maintain a state lic. is ridiculous. You bleed money to the state constantly with continuing education compliance requirements and constantly shifting regulations. Everyone city state and local is in your pocket wanting a piece of the action. Crooks!
Maybe they should begin the conference with a reading of the story “The Goose That Laid the Golden Eggs”. As in, let’s make sure we don’t kill the goose.
Same old story of successful and unsuccessful parasites – the unsuccessful ones kill their host.
Things like this need to be highlighted in campaigns.
Even so, many democrat voters are too dumb to vote for things that will actually improve their lives.
