Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to Unemployed: Start Looking for a Job

Breitbart-

Floridians who receive unemployment benefits will soon have to show proof they are job-hunting, according to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.

DeSantis took away the requirement that people on benefits look for work early in the pandemic when unemployment was on the rise and few employers were hiring.

But DeSantis has lifted pandemic-era restrictions on businesses, and the unemployment rate is lower than the national average.

“Normally, when you’re getting unemployment, the whole idea is that’s temporary, and you need to be looking for work to be able to get off unemployment,” DeSantis told reporters Wednesday. “It was a disaster, so we suspended those job search requirements. I think it’s pretty clear now, we have an abundance of job openings.” more

  1. He’s a plugged in dude. Been great watching him.

Over here in WA I now have the despicable Inslee. His latest move decree says OUTDOOR spectator events can now add people to vaccinated sections until capacity is 50%.

Where on God’s Green Earth does bullshit like this come from? I would fall over dead if one fucking owner just told him to kiss off.

  2. Here’s some more. An exact quote from the WA State Gov site.

Indoor facilities may add vaccinated sections until their total capacity is 50% maximum, or
maximum 2000 people, whichever is lower, inclusive of both vaccinated and unvaccinated
sections. Indoor unvaccinated spectators in Phase 2 cannot exceed 200 people, or 300 for rooms
greater than 100,000 square feet of space—and indoor unvaccinated spectators in Phase 3
cannot exceed 400 people, or 600 for rooms greater than 100,000 square feet of space.

Who in the fuck is writing this shit???

  3. You want to be a financial maven on par with the gnomes of zurich?

It’s not hard nowadays. There are only a couple of things you need to know.

    a. the supply of fiat dollars is going up endlessly
    b. the supply of stocks is going down because of buybacks.

there is nothing else that is going down in supply as fiat dollars are being created like confetti. Stocks are the best investment ever.

  4. It’s been refreshing to see Gov DeSantis in action. The MSM is gonna have to try really hard to discredit him. Maybe they’ll find a racist cop or two in Florida.

  5. I sure wish Abbott here in TX did 25% of what Desantis does. Instead he engages in trickery, allowing constitutional carry to get through while blocking vaccine passport, mask and other legislation that would prevent tyranny here. It should have been passed years ago, and while people give him accolades they don’t see behind the scenes how they are refusing to push health freedom legislation forward.

  6. I was just looking at some employment numbers. Job openings were slightly higher in late 2018 than now, only time they have ever been higher. But unemployment was rock-bottom – employers couldn’t find any unemployed people worth hiring. Now, with high unemployment it is clearly lack of interest. Also, employment rate is 3% lower than at any time during Trump presidency which is a huge amount.

  7. Businesses are hiring but struggling to find people to work. A friend of mine who owns a large pizza franchise has now gone to offering incentives to entice new hires (500.00 after 90 days working at least 25 hours a week). It’s literally wide open for anyone who wants to work as many hours as they want. I worked on and off for him for several years in between travelling with my main job and they were always flush with new-hires. Not anymore.

I recently had a conversation with my neighbor who is a loan officer at a credit union. We were talking about this situation and she said people on unemployment are coming in trying to get loans for cars, etc. They are not approved, then explain to her that they are making more money receiving unemployment than if they were working a job.

    There ya have it.

  8. Being paid more not to work? And what did they think would happen?
The company I work at is paying $300 for referring anybody that wants a job if they can pretend to swing a hammer.

  9. Brave move on the Gov’s part, but the deadbeats will simply apply for jobs to show their “proof” and simply never follow up on any offers or interviews…I see it happen every day.
