Today Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was in the Punta Rassa area of South Fort Myers to celebrate a remarkable accomplishment. The Sanibel bridges and causeway are open to civilian traffic. {Direct Rumble Link}
The massive, albeit temporary, repairs to the three spans and spoil islands have been completed three weeks after Hurricane Ian wiped them out. A genuinely remarkable feat of engineering and git’ r done roughneck effort. Truly an incredible accomplishment. To check out the scale of it see PICTURES HERE.

Yes, I did… in New Orleans during Katrina, some of their old buildings had slate shingles, which were even more dangerous than asphalt shingles, they were like getting hit by literal shrapnel from a bomb. I still have two of them that had been picked up off the ground, that hadn’t shattered. Very cool

I suspect many here would agree with her. And if the dems get their way and Trump is indicted, which all the media whores say is inevitable, it presents a much murkier less certain path.

That will push a certain percentage of already pissed off people to start taking action. 1% of 100,000 would be something like they haven’t seen before. And I suspect the numbers a lot higher than 100K.
I’ll never forget Ron White’s famous line about hurricanes. “It’s not THAT the wind is blowing, it’s WHAT the wind is blowing”
It’s really quite astonishing to me how fast the work to get the bridges and roads repaired was done, especially after seeing the condition they were in after Ian got through with them.

DeSantis had the state govt do what it should do far more often: get the hell out of the way and don’t interfere unless asked for help!
If you want something done right and done quick, you need a REAL republican.
The kind that comes from the word ‘Republic’.
