An elderly woman was arrested yesterday after allegedly pushing and striking a male neighbor who refused to wear a mask inside an elevator at a Florida condominium, police say.
The confrontation Monday afternoon at the Oceana Oceanfront complex in Jensen Beach resulted in the filing of a battery charge against Suzanne Miller, 71. Miller was released from the county jail late last night after being booked on the misdemeanor count. more

Sorry, but not every person who goes Mask Karen is unreasonable, though the battery part of this woman’s actions were over the top.
At age 71, she is firmly in the demographic with serious vulnerability to the Wuhan virus¹. If she’s a home owner in that condo building, and this being in Florida after all, I strongly suspect there are other elderly people living there. Plus, being elderly pretty much means they won’t be taking the stairs. If I were on the condo board, I would vote YES on signage requiring masks in the elevators and other common areas that are necessarily used by residents especially simply to come and go from their homes. Kindly please note that I would vote that way only if there were a firm sunset date plus objective criteria for the signs to come done (and we’re probably just about there what with the diminishing number in incidences of Wuhan virus contagion).
This is a special case if that condo building is her home. If she’d gone all postal on a maskless person outdoors or in a popular store I’d be verbally smacking her around with the rest of you.

If she was wearing a mask, what’s the problem? If she wasn’t upon what basis does she complain? Fauci says wear a mask. If she did, what is she worrying about, the guy is the one at risk?
I’m confused. If the masks don’t filter the virus and it can enter through your eyes and ears why support wearing them anywhere?

I doubt if wearing a mask reduces one’s probability of contracting Wuhan virus. If you are infected with Wuhan virus, and wear a mask, it might slightly reduce the probability of you spreading it to others.
But I see no reason to wear a mask unless you have virus symptoms. Besides it seems to be primarily spread by hand contact or being close to someone infected for fifteen minutes or more.
