DM UK: New video shows the terrifying moment an alligator lunged at a woman walking her dog by a lake in her Florida community, dragging her to her death.
The horrifying nightmare captured on video obtained by Inside Edition unfolded in front of a neighbor who frantically called 911 as she tried to help the woman. But it was too late.
Gloria Serge, 85, died after she was mauled to death by the 10-foot gator when she tried to rescue her beloved dog, Trooper, from the reptile’s clutches on Monday.
Serge’s pup survived the attacked, but the gator was later captured and euthanized. more

Never go near the water in FL. with a small dog…..
I am afraid this has happened more times than we hear.People that jog along canals in late afternoon are asking for it. If were up to me I would trap and shoot ALL of them.
I watched the video this morning, she was standing looking as if she sees the gator swimming towards her. I wonder if she’s blind? The gator even has a name!!!!
(that should read “had” a name….) The gator is dead – his name should be fat boy.
@RADIOATIONMAN/HAM/CB/AM/FM/SSB/VHF/UHF — Many of us here in Florida refer to those little leashed barking rats as “bait.”
That poor gator was just doing what gators do, and now he’s paid the ultimate price for nanacide.
UNCLE AL, I take it you don’t like yappy
ankle biters ?
@R-MAN — I’ve met a few that were actually nice little doggies once I got to know them, but they were noteworthy in not obeying the stereotype!
Her granddaughter, Poke Salad Annie, was not immediately available for comment.
But seriously, my son goes to school in Florida, and he likes to fish in those ponds. I send him these videos whenever I can.
My Mom lived in that community 20 years ago.
Jack Handey said, ‘IF YOU ever drop your keys into a river of molten lava, let ’em go, because man, they’re gone.’ Same could be said of a gator grabbing hold of your Pomeranian. 🙂
The lesson to be learned here is, never walk an appetizer on the shore of a Florida pond or canal. Unless you want to become the main course.
This is Florida; you mean no one had a gun handy, but someone managed to video the attack?
Moral of the story: Don’t walk your gator-snack next to the water.
Unfortunately, the gator ate her. When was the last time anyone ever saw a gator in Wash. state except in a zoo? We only have murder hornets up here in the great PNW.
Chomp, chomp-chomp….
