Older folks saved and penny-pinched to create a nest egg for their retirement. Inflation eats it away. The monies saved in the 80s to the 20’s does not buy today what it could of during that time frame. We’ll die and the unconcerned youth will experience the same due to demoncrap policies. Think the peanut carter years. Same same.
Sorry, lady: Communism first. You are expemdable. Try voting for Trump.
PER JEROME POWELL, THE ECONOMY IS SO STRONG, NO NEED TO LOWER RATES
THINK ABOUT THAT THICK LAYER OF LEFTIST BULLSHIT
Colorado… No need to guess she voted demoncrat. Pay up you idiot, You voted demoncrat, you live with your vote
Sorry, they are too busy trying to make sure you have no choice in presidential candidates.
Both my grandfather’s retired with pensions from Grand Trunk Railroad and enjoyed decent retirements.
Those days are gone.
Now the best bet is what you can squirt away on your own but good luck keeping governments grubby greedy paws away from it.
And government work is about the only place you can retire with a pension anymore and we the people without pension plans still pay for the unsustainable government pensions.
30 trillion plus deficit my ass!
It’s way bigger than that. WAY BIGGER.

I remember a story about an old granny whose back was to the wall, she was in court for some reason (political?), everything was being taken from her. She had managed to sneak a pistol into the courtroom (pre magnetic gate days), she shot the judge and the prosecutor.
Of course, the bailiff shot her, but what of it? She had nothing to lose, she took out her tormentors. IIRC, this inspired others to kill their courtroom prosecutors, and the pendulum started moving back to center.

I’ve always been a believer in ‘delayed gratification’ and figured I’d wait until 70+ to claim my social security and then finally sit back with a higher monthly benefit. Now, I’m wondering if I should file ASAP and get whatever early bennies I can while it still exists.
What happened to the ‘lock box’ where our government kept our social security ‘contributions’ separate from the budget? (Rhetorical question; don’t bother telling me they lied.)
Do the math Annie, get it while you can. If you wait until you can get the max, you’re forfeiting almost a decade of reduced payments.
