Former FDA vaccine regulation head Peter Marks to join Eli Lilly

Tip Ranks: Peter Marks, the former head of vaccine regulation at the FDA, has joined Eli Lilly (LLY) to lead its molecule discovery and infectious disease programs, Lizzy Lawrence of STAT reported. This move is likely to draw criticism over the close ties between federal regulators and the pharmaceutical industry, according to the report. Marks confirmed to STAT that he started his new role at Lilly Research Laboratories on Monday.

  1. Isn’t there/didn’t there used to be a law/regulation that any military (officers) retiring from active duty COULD NOT be hired as lobbyists (etc) in the civilian sector for five years?
The same should apply to all Big Gooberment bureaucrats.

  2. @Toxic Deplorable Racist, etc. — Yes, it sure is mighty unsavory. But unlike the military, which is somehow partially exempt, pols and bureaucrats have full 1st Amendment rights. Lobbying is speech, association, AND petitioning the govt, after all.

Shoot the doughnut, shoot it fast, shoot the doughnut, don’t be last. I believe that’s the saying.
