Former Obama advisor named Biden’s new communications director as Kate Bedingfield steps down

BPR: There’s good reason many Americans refer to the Biden presidency as Barack Obama’s third term, first and foremost being that Obama top lieutenant Susan Rice serves as President Biden’s domestic policy advisor.

And we can add yet another person with links to Obama to the White House ranks with the announcement Friday that Ben LaBolt, a former Obama adviser, has been named as the next White House communications director.

Breaking yet another “glass ceiling,” LaBolt is the first openly gay White House communications director — America can only hope he performs better than the last diversity hire, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who has been a disaster.

LaBolt is replacing Kate Bedingfield in the role, with Bedingfield stepping down at the end of this month to reportedly “take on a new strategic role with Biden’s as-of-yet undeclared re-election campaign,” according to Fox News. more
