FOX business: Suzanne Scott has been named Chief Executive Officer of Fox News and FOX Business Network (FBN), Lachlan Murdoch, chairman of 21st Century Fox and the chairman and CEO of the proposed new “Fox,” announced Thursday.
Scott will report jointly to Lachlan Murdoch and Rupert Murdoch, the 21st Century Fox founder. The appointment makes her the only female CEO of a major news network.
Other executive changes include Jay Wallace being appointed president of Fox News and executive editor, while Jack Abernethy will continue as CEO of the newly expanded FOX Television Stations Group.
On the change, Lachlan Murdoch commented, “Suzanne has been instrumental in the success of Fox News and she has now made history as its first female CEO. Her vision and innovation have helped create some of the most popular and lucrative primetime programs on cable and as we embark on the era of the proposed New Fox, I am confident that Suzanne’s leadership will ensure the dominance of both Fox News & FBN for years to come.” read more
Hope she has the Executive Search people on retainer… when the Disney deal goes thru she’ll need ’em!
Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Suzanne the plans they made put an end to you…
(don’t know why that popped in my head … only ‘Suzanne’ reference I got, I guess)
Congrats … now just get rid of Shemp Smith & those obnoxiously smug weekend anchors
The lefties are freaking out because “she enforced the miniskirt clause” or whatever. Because the lefty women on cnn aren’t showing their cankles. *eye roll*
What’s the miniskirt clause?
I’d hit that. Twice.
No offense, but Shemp Howard had talent. “Shemp” Smith doesn’t.
It scares me to think what Shep’s interpretation of the Curly Shuffle is!
Don’t get too happy. Murdoch’s son Lachlan is a lefty (all his kids are) so expect to see Fox changing (slowly perhaps but pushing left all the same) over time and conservatives will lose the last bastion (such as it is) of reasonably unbiased news out there.
Maybe give Guano Williams an executive position off camera…
Jay Wallace currently oversees the Shep Smith show so it will be interesting to see the changes he makes.
Fox News will probably head hard left with these two at the helm and Disney buying them.
