Fusion GPS Founder Told Congress He Regrets That His Research Ended Up In Kremlin Hands

The founder of the opposition research firm behind the Trump dossier told Congress this week that he regretted that the fruits of his investigation of a critic of the Kremlin were provided to and used by a top Russian government official.

A source familiar with Glenn Simpson’s testimony told The Daily Caller that the Fusion GPS partner also told the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) that he knew that Christopher Steele, the British spy who wrote the dossier, had provided briefings to the FBI during the campaign.

Simpson, who testified behind closed doors for nearly seven hours on Tuesday, denied knowing that research he did as part of a pro-Kremlin lobbying campaign ended up in the hands of Yuri Chaika, Russia’s prosecutor general.

While Fusion GPS was being paid by the Clinton campaign and DNC for the Trump investigation, the firm was also working for BakerHostetler, a law firm that was representing Prevezon Holdings, a Russian energy company that faced stiff penalties from the Magnitsky Act.    read more

  1. Why are we, as conservatives, putting up with this dog and pony show. It’s gone to far. Mueller and Comy need to be hung in the public square. We need a Conservative Citizen component of the government. With vigilante justice privileges.

  5. Our Government, politicians, no longer respects or fears the electorate. That’s a big problem and why they continually try and take our guns away. I hope they are reminded one day before I die.

  7. Brad, part of me believes they don’t fear the electorate because they know the outcome of the vote before any votes are cast. Then the part of me that reads crap on FB and in comment sections on news stories and listens to idiots on the street believes far too many people including those who say they are conservative are too idiotic to vote.

  9. Dealing with foreign governments. Not registered for same. Sounds familiar. Oh, that’s right- the other guy, the one who is charged, is a republican.
    Why is this being slogged through Congress? They can’t charge them with a crime. Where is the DOJ on this? Get their friggin’ bank records, and prosecute them. They have subverted our democratic form of government, benefited foreighn governments, and profited from that. And that is just concerning their DNC clients and friends. They have other clients, and I can only guess their dealings are just as corrupt and hidden.
    I want my government back.
