Breitbart: Gas prices hit a record high in Los Angeles County of $6.466 per gallon on Monday morning, soaring past the previous record set during the nationwide price surge this past spring.
Local ABC affiliate KABC-7 reported:
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose seven-tenths of a cent to a record $6.466 Monday, topping the previous high of $6.462 set June 14.
The average price has risen 31 consecutive days, increasing $1.22, including 1 cent Sunday and 15.3 cents Thursday, the largest daily increase since the record 19.2-cent hike on Oct. 5, 2012, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The streak of increases follows a run of 78 decreases in 80 days totaling $1.216 that began June 15, one day after the average price rose to a record $6.462.

I saw $6 for regular in North Seattle today.
Filled up last night in my hometown for $5.79, premium. It’s gone up fast. A week or so ago it was just over $5 for premium and reg was like $4.29.

Why in the heck is it hitting these highs on the West Coast? I know they are double what we pay in DFW, but we are down off the record highs of close to $4. We are around $2.80ish now. If we are down off record highs why is west coast hitting record highs

Where we lived in Canada the lowest price on Gas Buddy is $6.399/gal — allowing for the exchange rate.
