Gas prices may spike as much as 10 to 25 cents this week in some states

FOX: Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Florida already seeing higher gas prices.

Consumers may need to prepare to spend more for a gallon of gas tied to the rising cost of oil and heat-induced refinery outages as temps across the nation soar to the highest of the summer this week.

The national average price for a gallon of gasoline could rise five to 10 cents this week, with increases of 10 to 25 cents a gallon in some states, Patrick De Haan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy, tweeted Monday.

Currently, the average price for a gallon of gas is $3.58 for the week ending July 20, three cents higher from the previous week. Still, it is 88 cents less than a year ago, according to the latest report by AAA. more

  1. The cheapest gas we have in Spokane is $4.36 a gal. for regular, no thanks to that politically correct BS emissions tax hike here in Wash. state recently. This one is damaging to everybody especially farmers and truckers who have to pay more for fuel because of so called globull warming. I despise Inslee and the ecoweenies who implemented this in Wash. state.

  2. heat-induced refinery outages. Pffffffffffffffffffft.

Oil is heated to 900 to 1000 degrees to make gas.

A hotter ambient temperature means the refinery saves on heating costs. Besides, ya think oil really cares if it’s 120 outside when it’s 900 in the furnace?

Just like they tell us when temperatures reach 100 it’s prime time to start WILDFIRES. Pffffffffft. How? If you rub 2 sticks together, that creates temperatures over 1000 degrees to make a spark, like a WILDFIRE spark. What’s 100 (10% of the minimum) degrees gonna do to make a spark?
