Carp are good eatin if you keep them in fresh water for a week. I have a spring feed creek behind my house and I’ve used a kiddie pool. The first couple days the water turns to mud.

Or grind ’em up for garden fertilizer.
But whatever else you do (or don’t do), DON’T put ’em back in the water where you caught ’em.

Back in the 70s, before we knew better, we used small ones for Crappie fishing. Mighty fine bait & they were cheaper than minnows from the bait shop.
