GINGRICH SAYS HE WOULD HAVE ‘MORAL OBLIGATION’ TO ACCEPT HOUSE SPEAKER ROLE IF ASKED

Are any of us asking?

BigGovernment: Newt Gingrich told Breitbart Editor-in-Chief Alexander Marlow on Saturday that if he had the votes in congress to reclaim the Speaker of the House position, he would accept.

Gingrich acknowledged that if he had 218 house members backing him as Speaker, who approved of his strategy on the continuing resolution, and his strategy on dealing with the debt ceiling, he would have a “moral obligation to serve the country.”

Gingrich, who served as Speaker in the 90’s during the Clinton Administration, initially made light of this provocative possibility by reminding listeners to Breitbart News Saturday on Sirius XM Patriot radio, channel 125, of the time when conservative icon William F. Buckley was asked while running for Mayor of New York: if he was elected, what would he do?  Buckley said that the first thing he would do is demand a recount.

  1. Newt is a great idea guy but I see him all over the place. OOH he’d be free of reelection worries and that might be a good thing. OTOH it might not.

There are some conservative current members that would make good Speakers: Dave Brat-Jim Bridenstine-Mark Meadows-Paul Labrador for a few examples of guys that I’ve seen speaking and that sound like they want to change up the ass whipping Obama/Jarrett have been laying down on them for years.

Paul Ryan would be a stab in the face.

  2. There are worse choices out there. Remember he was the one that forced Bill Clinton to actually negotiate with Congress on the budget including sweeping welfare reform. With no election to worry about, enough money in the bank not to entertain inducements from either side and a guaranteed book deal at the end of a few years he may just be the one to rally the GOP into an actual opposition and curtail the power of the establishment GOP. He’s smarter then Obama whose “lazer like” focus he brought to issues just turned out to be light from a disco ball and wouldn’t be afraid of backing down to this tyrant in the making. Remeber, Obama doesn’t have to worry about another election either.

  3. Here’s a clip of Brat arguing with Dent and Hugh Hewitt over Ryan and other Speaker related issues. Brat is guy that should be Speaker. He makes such a strong case for conservative principles, the others keep interrupting him to try and drown him out. And Dent is a flat out liar.

And Hugh Hewitt is more disgusting then ever-Lord what a POS-talk about a punchable face.

  4. I have long been what I consider to be a “Gingrich Constitutionalist” if you will. What Newt brings to the table is a return to the US Constitution, but he cannot do it by himself.

I submit it is much more important to purge the Democrats who are all going to vote for Nazi Pelousy no matter what.

  5. Mr. Newt would be great as speaker. He’s done it! He knew exactly how to advance the conservative agenda even with a liberal in the white house. In fact, the charge at the time was that he was rendering the president irrelevant! Also love the fact that in interviews he refuses to accept the progressive narrative to begin with. So many on the right don’t realize that once you even step foot onto the Looney Liberal Logic Playing Field you have lost the game.
