This Fourth of July is especially poignant in that for the first time in 8 years it rings true that we live in the Land of the Free, home of the brave.
Nothing makes me prouder than our stars & stripes blowing in the breeze to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner. 🇺🇸
Thanks MJA!
I noticed him starting to play this at the end of the Voodoo Child clip last night and thought “Why stop now?”. I almost posted it myself.
This reminded me to put my flag out!
Love Hendrix. Wore out plenty of phonograph needles playing his vinyl over and over again. He was a paratrooper, ya know.
Hendrix was a soldier in the 101st Airborne Division in the early 60’s prior to Vietnam. I think he was discharged (he received an honorable discharge) because he had an accident while in training.
For the first time in 8 years, I know our president will truly celebrate America, her people, her God-given freedom, and her beauty!
@Irony, thanks, I did not know Hendrix was in the 101st and I bet most do not.
I like him even better now knowing that.
Even though I thought I appreciated JH before, after seeing the video I just posted, and learning from geoff that JH was in the military, I watched JH at Woodstock playing the Star Spangled Banner. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKvnQYFhGCc
Point is: He was sound effecting the bombs bursting in air and other key elements of the words. He even interspersed TAPS. Wow.
Here is another version that pretty much backs up the story of the Star Spangled Banner that I posted above.
