Governor Stands Up in Defense of Mount Rushmore: ‘Not on My Watch’

Western Journal: As leftist demonstrators take aim at statues and monuments that honor former American presidents, South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem has announced that Mount Rushmore will be protected.

On Monday, conservative commentator Ben Shapiro gave his take on a movement by anti-American demonstrators to destroy statues and other monuments.

“So, when is our woke historical revisionist priesthood going to insist on blowing up Mount Rushmore?” he asked in a tweet.

Mount Rushmore is in the southwestern portion of South Dakota, and Noem, a Republican, said she will ensure the national treasure is preserved.

“Not on my watch,” Noem wrote in response to Shapiro. more

  1. If it wasn’t so dang cold up there, i’d move there just to have her for a governor. My governor in indiana is a republican, and he’s a first class piece of shit. He’s rather die than have someone from the indianapolis star criticize him.

    re: nascar.
All the employees at that track, the execs, and nascar workers, surely all knew that was a rope to pull down the garage door and had been there for years. And yet they still treated it like a legit gripe and called in the FBI.

Is there any organization in the US that will tell the racemongers to take a hike?

  2. The number of deaths from the chinese virus is not showing a second wave.

The number of cases is going way up because the number of tests given is going way up.

That’s just the way they planned it to throw all this second wave bullshit at us. If you notice, the news never talks about deaths. Just those ‘huge’ number of new cases.

Get off your ass, Trump, and put a real scientist in charge of this thing and not a political hack like fauci.

I’m willing to bet they’ve had sniper teams in place for at least a week.

RE Nascar. I’m a big fan. Correction, I use to be a big fan. I’m done. They should be embarrassed. Mike Helton is a total loser that couldn’t run a hot dog stand.

Well, there’s always the Klan and such.

They don’t seem to be afraid to do it.

  5. I remember when the flabby orcs were going to overrun Area 51 to see them Aliens. Then they got hot and thirsty. But yeah, go try to dynamite Rushmore. The only rocks you’ll be breaking will be in a pile in Stony Lonesome.

  6. @ Gonad the Barbarian, I’m still pissed off that your governor ordered a track’s entrance to be blocked to prevent them from racing.

I never voted for our governor and didn’t like him and still a lot not to like but he at least hasn’t been totally bat shit crazy over the virus. He caved once to the fearmongers, but hopefully this time he will stick to his guns when he says we won’t shut down again. They’re back at it again, local media calling for mandatory masks, no public events(because you know it’s a super virus again, the day after the Trump rally a record number of people tested positive)and I just heard today one town is shutting down again.

  7. @Bad Brad, we have a lot of friends that are dirt racers and/or huge racing fans, including Nascar. I have yet to see one of them who has said they will continue to watch, instead it’s the opposite.
I’m seeing home tracks who have to pay Nascar a lot of money to be a Nascar home track that have went from saying this is the last year, to now fighting with Nascar to give their money back because their racers don’t want to race under a Nascar license.

These tracks not only pay a huge sanctioning fee, drivers and crew members have to buy Nascar license. So they make a lot of money from doing this.

  8. The bad guys in North By Northwest led by James Mason were less of a threat to Mt. Rushmore and Cary Grant than these fools are. Kill them on sight if they even attempt to destroy or desecrate Mt. Rushmore and then hurl their bodies off the face of the mountain to certain death below and let the coyotes and wolves and other carrion finish off their worthless remains.

  9. I don’t think these power-drunk punks have a clue about the size of the Mount Rushmore monuments. They’ve seen too many selfies of people pinching Washington’s head. Urban fireworks ain’t gonna get it done, either, and it’s going to take more than statue-pulling nooses to even get there. But hey, knock yourselves out, fools. Seriously, all the way out.

And I don’t see anybody blasting away at the actual Confederates on Stone Mountain.

  10. @ Geoff: You beat me to it! However, I think it would be a better “learning experience” for them and the public at large to just catch them and toss them over the edge to contemplate the terminal velocity of falling human bodies before they hit the bottom. Nulla Misericordia!

  11. There is a never completed vault on the top that was supposed to contain all the plans and drawings and become a museum of the achievement. Sure its bones are still there and would make a good station to place security. To take it down you’d have to start at the top and rappel down to fractured areas to set charges. Should be pretty easy to defend.

  12. a friend has a pilot friend who has been flying to all the local airports here in the hills to prepare them for the no fly zone when Trump visits here. Hopefully PDJT will fly right over my home.

Kristi has earned my respect. Thats my girl.
