I think they got the grandma killers meme backwards. It’s not things that kill grandmas, it’s grandmas that kill.
Oxygen channel yesterday was running a series of Snapped episodes, about grandmas that were serial killers. That they advertised it as Grandma Killers Marathon.
Don’t know if it continued this afternoon as the weather outside was more pleasant than yesterday, and I was outside.
But hey, ya never know. Cooped up inside too long, some of them might become obsessed with the idea. There has been plenty of planning time already.

Yesterday my car broke down on a pretty desolate state road, so I fired up my first call to AAA. About an hour into my waiting an older guy/rancher pulled up to shoot the shit and see if’n I needed some help. He told me a couple of blond jokes, some cowboy jokes and told me he could grab my car with his round bale feeder and haul me home, but I would need some body work after his tow. I told him a couple of pirate jokes. He said he would bring me breakfast if I was still there in the morning….anyway it all worked out and I’m glad I live where I live….nanner, nanner…..

…in an unrelated story, my wife and I just came back from the hospital. My 75 yo mother-in-law, who lives with us, was presenting with numb arms, shortness of breath, chest pains, and nausea. We took her to the ER, which is now an EXTREMELY unpleasant experience, where a sincerely rude hospital worker at a desk jammed uncomfortably in the vestibule of the entrance told my wife no one but the pt is allowed in, flung a scrap of paper with a phone number at her, and said to call in an hour, and rush rush rushed my mother-in-law in. My wife had left me to deal with the car so I was not present, or I would have kept Ms. Snippy from railroading proceedings at least long enough to pray and say “I love you”, but the Democrats have been very effective in turning hospitals into forbidding places of intimidation and fear, so she was brushed off like lint and my mother-in-law whisked into the hospital’s gaping maw.
I’ve kept up a bit and knew this possibility existed and tried to brace my wife, but it was still a shock to her. Still, we sat in the parking lot and waited, and waited, and waited, calling after the specified hour, only to find she was being admitted for a suspected ventricular blockage, and would have a room and a morning filled with an angiogram, and a possible angioplasty.
And NO visitors. Not even next of kin.
She was unhappy, I was unhappy, but what’re gonna do? You could curse and throw things at Ms. Cunty at the door if you want, but she don’t know nothing anyway, and that’ll just get you arrested, which helps NO one.
So for now, all we can do…is pray.
And I ask that my iOTW folk once again pray with me, because prayer is needed.
Those who read frequently here know of my postings about how a pre-Covid hospital tried very earnestly to kill my surgically recovering son, and was stopped only by the grace of God and his vigilant family. Hospitals are dangerous, dangerous places for the lone patient with no present advocate who loves them to watch over them and ensure all is done proper, and she has a complicated medical history, a pharmacy’s worth of meds on her list, and she’s old, and we KNOW what medicine is with old people these days.
So please pray with me.
Dear Heavenly Father, please protect this woman, Your servant, in this time of social upheaval and personal crisis. Please see her through the night, numb her pains, give her a doctor touched with Your wisdom, and guide his hand and his mind to give her full and complete healing that she may be returned in much improved health to her loving family. We know her time with us is not without limit, but grant us a little more time to once more hug, affirm our love, and be a family for just a little while longer, to tide us over until the joyous reunion we look forwards to at the feet of our Blessed Savior the Lord Jesus Christ Himself. Please also touch her daughters, her grandchildren, and all her kindred, give them peace and confidence that You are in charge and You will see her through to a better tomorrow, and return her to the bosom of her loving family.
And we ask it all in the precious name of Jesus, Amen.
…friend of mine at work has an addled, elderly father who couldn’t live alone and sometimes spent hours on the floor after a fall. My friend is divorced and had no one to watch him while he worked, so he had to put him in a pre-Covid nursing home.
He has full Medical Power of Attorney, but that doesn’t mean jack in these post-Demipanic days. No entry.
My friend doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to see his father alive again. And there’s not a thing he can do.
Pray for him, and many others

I’ve been to the ER twice this week, once to take my little sister after she was stung 9 times by a scorpion and once as a patient bc i have a tooth abscess.
Thankfully today I’m gonna see an emergency dentist but this entire time has been hell. Very rude and over simplified care, the gave both my sister and then me low low doses of painkillers and some fuckin ICE.
No IV or anything.
