PatriotRetort: Like so many of you, I sat glued to my computer monitor watching Donald Trump’s Inauguration.
But what I refused to do was stick around and listen to the drama queens of cable news pick apart his Inaugural Address and turn it into something that it wasn’t.
Earth to the Enslaved Press: If you want divisive and ugly, replay Chuck Schumer’s endless droning.
After a couple of minutes, I couldn’t take anymore of Schumer. I hit the mute.
Donald Trump’s Inaugural Address was spot-on.
As a candidate for President, Mr. Trump made the focus of his campaign We the People.
And this Inaugural Address was all about us.
In fact, the one pronoun President Trump used more than any other was “We.”
And let’s face it. That is a refreshing change after Barack Obama.
President Trump laid down the gauntlet. And he made it abundantly clear that we are a government of, by and for the people.
Ignore the chattering hens of the Enslaved Press. Because this Inaugural Address was most certainly a message of unity.
The reason they think it wasn’t is because President Trump sought to unite us as one people — not an amalgamation of identity groups stitched together by the Leftists Label of “Diversity.”
That’s a dude.
if you read rachel maddow’s critique, it sounds as if she were describing herself
dark, militant, negative
Just heard that Schumer wasn’t even on the program–what the heck was he doing?
I listened to rush listening to it. He was giddy and loving that he was blasting the establishment with them right there.
Trump’s inaugural address bitch slapped the last 3 decades (1988-2016) of American Presidents and Mooshell’s face shows it.
How does it feel bitch?
I’m finally proud of America.
Yes exactly. I went to the barber shop yesterday after listening to it and some of the media clips on rush.
Oddly enough the guys in the shop didn’t think Trump was at all devisive at all. They all loved that the politicians were put on notice.
Media and establishment still don’t get it: We the people are the government’s employer and Trump was speaking to us. They better wise up or get out.
Great again indeed! None of that mealy-mouthed, special interest mindless blather usually heard from behind the podiums in DC. President Trump defined his course of action, and it has nothing to do with business as usual within the beltway.
This is tantamount to a bloodless coup, in which Americans now have leadership instead of demagogues!
Do you hear that, McConnell?
None of the MSM were good reporters. They sounded like bitter crybabies.
They irritated me by focusing on the few demonstrations that DID materialize. I saw somewhere, a speculation that at the trouble spots, it seemed there were more reporters than protesters.
What a sad bunch of people the libs are. And they just can’t seem to stop themselves from dropping their shields of faux respectability and letting Americans see what utter jackasses they are. The symbol for the democrat party couldn’t be better chosen, except there should be a passel of RATS all over the Jackass.
The only lib acting with a modicum of class was Joe Biden. Although, I have to give a very small bit of homage to HRC, even though I’m waiting for the other shoe to drop on that one. Clintons ALWAYS have an agenda.
They said it was divisive and anti-Semitic. Were they listening to the same speech I was? No, the left make up crazy in their own heads.
@HWG She/he does look like somebody you’d see on cell block number five and want to steer clear of.
Kind of small potatoes compared to the hope and change it back we have now.
And then the tone deaf bastards went to that private little luncheon in the Capitol Rotunda, far away from the maddening crowds, to ease their tortured little psyches!
On another note, did anyone read the David Brooks article in the NYT? These people are certifiable.
President Trump’s speech was as bold and condemning of the political elite as his Al Smith Dinner speech. About a third of the way in I turned to Geoff C. and said, “Uh oh, here we go!” All those smug, self-congratulating puppies with their club pins tacked to the underside of their lapels were about to get their ears pinned back, too! It was a whopping dose of tough love. Funny how so many of those RINO actors in attendance fought to get on camera and, using that universal, verbal sign of friendship (the index and middle fingers tightly entwined), sought to share their “personal” stories of how they “know” The Donald and how the two of them go “way back”. Yeah, they go way back alright! Mostly “way back” to all the times they touched him for campaign contributions, as Trump so comically reminded everyone at Thursday’s luncheon when he called out John Cornyn’s bi-annual calls to Trump Tower.
What a delicious day!! What a delicious speech!!
Did anyone else see the C-SPAN coverage of President Trump signing the cabinet secretaries’ commissioning papers? Paul Ryan literally rushed to stand at Trump’s left elbow, squeezing out the First Lady and causing her to have to stand behind the large chair her husband sat in. There was some jostling as someone sort of motioned him to move over and let Melania come around front to stand. Nasty Pelosi kept reaching into the center of the proceedings as she sought to grab not just one, but two of the signing pens! Then she started grabbing, for no explicable reason, one of the signed commission papers and for a couple of seconds was waging a tug-of-war with it!
Moose came out of the WH looking for all the world like an ad for Burlington Coat Factory! But had she tried to one-up the new FLOTUS, she undoubtedly would have been panned for that, too. One thing about the mentally defective Left is their inability to control their emotions and it showed on the face of the former FLOTUS. It was embarrassing, wasn’t it? I was raised by the rule “If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all”, so I’ve never felt it necessary to criticize her looks or her clothing, but as the end approached I’ve experienced a watershed of intense dislike of her. Yesterday, her scowl-y, apparently two-faced, countenance will NEVER be missed. I hope they bulldoze her ridiculous veggie garden.
All the talking heads agreed that Trump’s speech was populist. Yes, that’s why Trump is now the 45th President. His inaugural address was a reaffirmation of what he pledged on the campaign trail. Trump promised to ease the burden of government and help the common folk, and his speech promised to ease the burden of government and help the common folk. Trump promised to make America great again, and he reaffirmed to make America great again.
Bernie Sanders and his supporters should actually have been thrilled – Trump went after the infamous “1%” these folks purport to hate. UC Berkeley, not exactly a hotbed of conservativism, reported that the income gap actually increased under the Obama administration, and Trump wants to change that.
Finally, the talking heads bemoaned that Trump did not focus on “unity.” First, can anyone say with a straight face that the left wants any sort of unity? The left spends all of its time splintering people into aggrieved groups; a divide and conquer strategy. Blacks are convinced that only their lives matter and the police are out to murder them, gays are convinced that America wants to exterminate them, and feminists continally get naked and refer to their vaginas while complaining that people only think of them as sex objects. The only type of unity the left wants is capitulation by the right; I suggest that the left surrender in the name of their precious unity.
Finally, Trump wants to clean up inner cities, put people to work, and make the United States safe as part of his make America great again campaign. What’s wrong with that? Does the left actually propose to keep inner cities the hell holes they have become? Does the left actually propose to accelerate the level of unemployment we currently have? Does the left want to actively promote the specter of terrorism? If so, this is another reason the left should just surrender, get out of the way, and let “average Americans” strive to be great again.
What a refreshing difference between the straightforward Trump Inaugural Address and the wordy worthless Obama Addresses. Trump’s second Inaugural Address will be even better. God speed, President Donald J. Trump.
I thought it was a great speech but since it was covered so ably by both the article and the commenters I’d only want to make one comment about the talking heads. The left (CNN, ABC, MSNBC etc, Fox being the exception) actually drew comparisons to Hitler as well as trying to tie Trumps vision of making America First to the “America First Committee” of the late 30’s and early 40’s that sought to keep America out of the coming European conflict. They then mischaracterized the America First Committee as being anti-Semitic which they were not but using that line to tie Trump’s speech as being anti jewish. Incredibly cheap journalism lacking in anything that could be remotely described as ethics or standards. I never thought the likes of Mathews and Maddow could sink any lower but was surprised by how deep into the mud they were willing to plunge.
Here in Australia we are still celebrating! 2017 has indeed gotten off to a good start after a dreadful 2016. President Trump will not just make our great ally America Great Again but Britain and Australia and any other Western nation that gets it! The last 8 years has been heartbreaking, but millions of Christians and Jews have been praying for Israel and for regime change in America. Romney wasn’t much of a candidate but when Obama was repeated in 2012, we here DownUnda felt the pain of another 4 years of mayhem and destruction, but we certainly didn’t go out setting fire to cars and committing acts of violence! And what an incredible team President Trump is surrounding himself with, and what a fine choice of VP in Governor Pence, a man of faith and conviction! G-d Bless America and G-d Bless The Trump administration!! The Adult’s are once again in charge!
The most enjoyable 30 minutes evah in television history:
youtube MSNBC Maddow meltdown.
For me it is better than sex, a hole in one, or breaking par.
I hope they never take it down. MAGA!
@scr_north:
“as well as trying to tie Trumps vision of making America First to the “America First Committee””
Krauthammer breathlessly (sorry) did just that on Fox shortly after the swearing in.
That is one miserable-looking hominid.
If I never see it’s face again, it will be too soon.
they make it sound like “populist” is a bad word, uhhh that’s their goal..
Mr. Trumps inaguaration address was profound and made an impact. Every word was carefully chosen to express the God inspired vision Trump has for this country.
One of my favorite parts of the speech was Trump’s rebuke of the former presidents careless and destrctive lack of stewardship. They should be ashamed. Instead they are proud and in denial.
The best about the address was Mr. Trump recognizing that God is the key to our victory. I have printed out Mr. Trump’s inauguration address because it’s inspirational, prophetic, and much more than a speech, it’s a prayer.
We have been given a great opportunity to truly reset. Let’s not waste any time pressing forward. It a new day!
Dude looks like a lady!
