On Sunday, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) announced that he would sign a bill into law that would make it a crime for illegal immigrants to be in the state of Texas. He said that the bill would grant police officers in every agency the authority to arrest migrants entering the state illegally.
The move comes as the U.S. southern border struggles to contain the historic mass influx of illegal immigrants at the hands of President Biden’s open border policies. more

One of the biggest problem is a “Border Patrol” that answers to the paperweight in the oval orifice, and not to the people of the state where they operate.

Carlos – NOTHING in the article or Abbott’s statements indicates anything beyond arrest. Does Texas have the ability/authority to throw them out? I agree if they are gone, but no reason to just assume.

So, for all this time up to the signing of this bill it was legal to be an illegal immigrant in Texas?
Perhaps true since immigration control is apparently *not* a state right, but one would think border states would cover their asses just in case…
