  1. One of the problems all of this convenience we’ve accepted from applying technology to everything in our lives, is this.
    Proper system planning, development, and programming allows systems to interoperate at the same time as being resilient, but we don’t have those kinds of systems. The whole thing is likely fucked, and you can’t just pull the plug and re-boot it. Those big-brains in the back room never learn just how smart they aren’t.

  2. I did work there back in the early 1990’s. the place had a cult like feeling to it. really bad as “group thinking” was normal.
    needless to say, I didn’t last there long. although they paid very well, the mindset of my “coworkers” left me stunned at times.
    and it had the 4th largest police force in the state in Philly.
    funny is the fact they never tell the parents of the kids going there that. but then all the big schools in Philly keep a tight lid on the true crime stats. can’t have the parents of Todd or Buffy know their kid in going to be raped or robbed inside of 6 months after paying the what 50 grand per year to go there ?
