Hamas Rejects Another Ceasefire Offer

FDD: Hamas rejected the latest Gaza ceasefire proposal on April 4, refusing to compromise on its maximalist position. “We are committed to our demands,” Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh said. Those demands include a permanent ceasefire, Israel’s complete withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the return of Palestinians displaced from northern Gaza, and an “honorable prisoner exchange deal,” Haniyeh said. Jerusalem has repeatedly made clear that any deal that leaves Hamas intact is unacceptable. more here

  1. No, no, no. You don’t understand. You don’t get to start a war then make surrender demands when you’re getting your ass kicked. That’s not the way it works.

  2. ‘”Yet do you stand still at this very time in your armor; nor can you bring yourselves so much as to pretend to be supplicants even in this your utmost extremity. O miserable creatures! what is it you depend on? Are not your people dead? is not your holy house gone? is not your city in my power? and are not your own very lives in my hands? And do you still deem it a part of valor to die? However, I will not imitate your madness. If you throw down your arms, and deliver up your bodies to me, I grant you your lives; and I will act like a mild master of a family; what cannot be healed shall be punished, and the rest I will preserve for my own use.”

To that offer of Titus they made this reply: That they could not accept of it, because they had sworn never to do so; but they desired they might have leave to go through the wall that had been made about them, with their wives and children; for that they would go into the desert, and leave the city to him. At this Titus had great indignation, that when they were in the case of men already taken captives, they should pretend to make their own terms with him, as if they had been conquerors. So he ordered this proclamation to be made to them, That they should no more come out to him as deserters, nor hope for any further security; for that he would henceforth spare nobody, but fight them with his whole army; and that they must save themselves as well as they could; for that he would from henceforth treat them according to the laws of war. So he gave orders to the soldiers both to burn and to plunder the city; who did nothing indeed that day; but on the next day they set fire to the repository of the archives, to Acra, to the council-house, and to the place called Ophlas; at which time the fire proceeded as far as the palace of queen Helena, which was in the middle of Acra; the lanes also were burnt down, as were also those houses that were full of the dead bodies of such as were destroyed by famine.’

  3. “We will have peace,” said (Israel) at last thickly and with an effort. Several of the (IDF) cried out gladly. (Israel) held up his hand. “Yes, we will have peace,” he said now in a clear voice, “we will have peace, when you and all your works have perished–and the works of your dark master to whom you would deliver us. You are a liar, (Hamas), and a corrupter a men’s hearts. You hold out your hand it to me, and I perceive only a finger of the claw of (satan). Cruel and cold! Even if your war on me was just–as it was not, for were you ten times as wise you would have no right to rule me and mine for your own profit as you desired–even so, what will you say of your torches in (the West Bank) and the children that lie dead there? And they hewed (many bodies) before the gates of the (Gaza), after (they) was dead. When you hang from a gibbet at your window for the sport of your own crows, I will have peace with you and (Islam). So much for the house of (David). A lesser son of great sires am I, but I do not need to lick your fingers. Turn elsewhither. But I fear your voice has lost its charm.”

  4. Keep in mind it’s still Israel’s fault, as they did not completely capitulate and surrender to Hamas – as per Biden’s decree.

It has been ‘opposite day’ for almost four years…

  5. Israel shouldn’t give Hamas a cease-fire. Unfortunately, the Arabs of all nationalities will never accept Israel. The only way to eliminate the Palestinian problem is to tell all the Arabs to leave the Gaza strip, but the other Arab nations won’t take them. Why? At least two reasons. 1. The other nations don’t want a bunch of proven terrorists in the midst. 2. More importantly, they have a reason to bash Israel over the way they respond to the Palestinians.

  6. I believe the prisoners held by Hamas are either dead or in such horrible condition that an exchange is not an option anymore. “Palestine” needs to be completely demolished and its people scattered or demolished with it. Enough of the cease fire charade.

  7. By Hamas’ standards they are winning.

The terrorist organization is achieving its political goals, of isolating and Israel and driving a deep wedge with The United States. As far as nations go, only the west gives a damn about the “citizens” of Gaza and only Isael cares about the hostages. The death and suffering of all in that cursed land is part of the cost of doing operations for Hama and by extension its paymaster in Iran.

  8. The winner makes the rules.
Wait until they come with their hat in their hand.
They started it, let Israel finish it then they won’t have more problems down the road. But everybody with a half a brain cell knows this.
