yes. their fathers in Neamiah above knew they were hated and so were always armed and prepared for it. Many of the psalms of David recognize he was constantly encompassed by enemies, at one point his own king wanted him dead, so he was always armed and prepared for violence.
It is only when Israel forgets the written histories of their fathers and try to live as though their neighbors were peaceful that they are slaughtered and taken captive.
Only when they act as though His Word no longer matters today.
