Okay, twist my arm!
I’ll gladly pay you Tuesday
For a hamburger today, J Wellington Wimpy, noted glutton and hamburger gourmand in the original Popeye comic strips. by EC Segar.
Okay, but it’s gotta be an all American Burger.
No avocado, no aioli of any flavor, and for decency’s sake NO FRIED EGG.
JUST got 3 from BOOGER King! Who knew!? 😛
Make mine a Royale with cheese.
Mr. Mxyzptlk, it sounds like Kim Chee will not be found on your burger. Hot n spicy Kim Chee is tough to beat on a burger. Jalapeños too, but that doesn’t sound All American either.
I bet that’s a Whopper. As long as it’s not one of the fake plant based Whoppers. Whammy’s (2 hamburger patties/2 cheese) at Dick’s Hamburgers at 3rd & Division in downtown Spokane are the best although not as cheap as they used to be. When I was in HS 50 years ago we could get 3 cheeseburgers, large fries and a coke for $1.05, those were the days. If I ate like that any more my kids and my age would probably kill me.
To celebrate Memorial Day, cook a giant burger, make it flaming hot, and shove it up Biden’s ass.
Make mine a Fish Fillet Sandwich, hold the tartar sauce, please. Throw in a couple of hot mustard packets instead and I’m happy. 🙂
Quality lean beef and buffalo meat with various spices and sauces and a third of a bottle of fairly fine red wine thoroughly mixed and allowed to refrigerate for a few hours. Make the patties whilst drinking what’s left of the red wine and cook over a charcoal grill. If serving more than one person, two bottles of red wine may be required for imbibing during the meal.
I remember eating at a Max and Erma’s many years ago.
At that time they had a burger called ‘The Garbage Burger’. That sucker had everything under the sun on it.
It took me 5 bites just to get through the thing.
Now, unless I want my blood sugar levels spiking skyward, all my burgers are bun free☹️
Co. Angus has a cool avitar.
In typical occurrence:
I had fried chicken for lunch.
Finished work, came home, opened the door, I smelled my wife roasting a chicken for dinner.
Happy Burger Day! and not that Beyond Meat artificial Chemical Goop.
And I want a fatty blend of beef so it tastes like something dammit. That lean stuff is like a heated hockey puck.
Thanks for the reminder! I believe I’ll go up to Culver’s for a butterburger with cheddar and bacon, plus lettuce, tomato, onion, and mayonnaise. With a large order of onion rings on the side. Yum!
@Different Tim — I couldn’t agree more! Hamburger meat MUST be at least 20% fat or it just isn’t right. I like leaner ground beef in other dishes, but not for burgers!
Drove to Wyoming and ate at a Wayback Burger joint. Yeah, it’s fast food, but the burger was good and the people working there are fantastic. And I didn’t even know I was celebrating National Hamburger Day until I got back!
Uncle Al, The buns there to absorb the delicious juices so they don’t go to waste.
There is an imperfect but decent fall-back tactic if for some reason beyond your control you find yourself stuck with low-fat burger meat: put a generous pat of butter on the patty just after it comes off the grill or griddle.
Time to fire up the George Foreman grill!
Damn!
I wish I had known that before I ate bean and bacon soup for dinner.
Oh well …
