AOC is THE face of the progressive movement. It’s not Sanders or Warren or Pelosi or any other of the geriatric stooges. Newsom is the only other prog that shares her status. Sure, it’s easy to dismiss her as stupid, and she is on all things energy, economics, civil rights, and the real American ethos, but she gets cult of personality, ambition, and cutthroat politics.
It is also easy to say to oneself, “If this is the best they can do, we got nothing to worry about”. Of course, this would utterly dismiss her magnetism (I don’t see it either, but it’s there) and the power of culture.
I would like to think that she is the left’s Shiny New Object and that the infatuation will be short-lived, not counting on it.

After the Amazon headquarters debacle, the NY Dems could have primaried her out, or just redistrict her out. At the time I thought both Cuomo and Schumer were pissed off enough to do something. Guess I was naive.
